How had I not tried this place out? This looks like the perfect place for breakfast and an early lunch. So, I stopped in as I was in the area for work, and let me tell you... I can just feel the vibe. Because I was in a little bit of a rush, I could only order 2 of my go-to tacos, Chicharron con Salsa. I was not disappointed at all. The young lady who took my order was absolutely awesome.Welcomed me before.I even finished walking through the door. I ordered a large coffee. Also which came in a 32 ounce cup, which is no longer available at many Mexican restaurants. So I was glad to know that I could get one and she gave me french vanilla creamer from the fridge. The coffee was great also. The menu looks simple and easy to choose from. I was also glad the food turn around was really quick. She told me they opened up about 5 am. in the morning and close about 2 pm. if i'm correct. I am definitely going to stop in again and check out the Lil Johnny's Big Taco for sure. Thank you for your service, kindness, professionalism, fresh coffee, and, of course, my tacos. See...
Read moreIn town for my daughter’s cheer comp, we were staying at a hotel near Lil’ Jonny’s and were looking for breakfast tacos. We gave this place a try and, well, we’ve had breakfast tacos all over Texas and I am serious when I say that these were the absolute best we’ve ever had. I ordered some basic egg, cheese, and bacon for my wife and daughter (boring) and I had lengua, barbacoa, and carne guisada tacos. Why were they the best? First, the tortillas were on point. Hot, fresh, and perfect. You can tell they were probably made within a very short amount of time before I ate them. Amazing. The lengua was perfectly sized and full of flavor, the barbacoa was, well, splendid, and the carne gusada had tasty gravy, tender meat, and some carrots and peas in there which were just right. The prices were fair and the employees were all smiling and happy to serve me, with a nice greeting on my way in the door. If you’re anywhere in the area, Lil’ Jonny’s is where...
Read moreGreat bean and cheese tacos. I like the tortillas. But they are one of “those” restaurants. They are very stingy with their green salsa. I ordered 3 tacos and an ice tea to-go. A little over $9.00 so not the best prices but doable. But they only gave me one salsa and no salt. So I asked for some salt packets and one more salsa. They gave me some salt but said they charge for additional salsa’s. I had already swiped my card and didn’t want to do that again for .75 cents. And I think .75 cents is way too much for a tiny salsa container. So I had one tiny salsa for three tacos. This left my tacos feeling dry and tasting flavorless. So if you actually like salsa on your tacos, I suppose just ordering one taco would be an option. Or you could go to just about any other restaurant and they’ll give you more salsa if you ask for it. So overall I see this place as a missed opportunity for a great restaurant. I...
