Lush Rooftop — Restaurant in San Antonio

Two different instances, I had run into unnecessary altercations with the staff at this location and two other instances, I had my friends run into two different instances as well. My two issues was when I ordered a beer ($4.50) and a water (tap). The bartender brings us the drinks aand the bill. The bill is $7.50. My friend sees it and tells the bartender(nicely) that he may have overcharged us. The bartender gets SUPER defensive and tells us that my plastic, kiddie cup of water was $2. Literally a cup that is filled to the brim of ice and you can finish in four sips. We look confused and he starts dropping his title on us. "I'm head bartender. That's just the way it is. See all these people? We serve all of them and it takes service to get a water." My friend looks at him surprised and tells him "but they are already charging us $10 to get in?" Bartender just shakes his head and says "that's the way it is". He gave a very macho and rude way of saying all of this. Upsetting. My other altercation was that I was leaning on the counter near the from entrance. No one around me. A bar back comes up to me to say I can't lean on it. As I'm ALREADY walking away from it, he is shoving me away. He didn't need to touch me since I was already doing what he asked. Again, upsetting. My friends had different altercations. Front entrance girl gave him a rude snarl JUST FOR ASKING WHEN THEY CLOSE. My other friends were almost ripped off from another employee selling wristbands to people in line, then we head up to get in and the bar back who gives them issues and yells at them since he thought they either stole or faked the wristbands. Started getting very confrontational with my friends as I watched from behind them. Horrible service, over priced, and too small space for the amount of people they let in...

This place adds a 20% “service fee” for all drinks. When I asked why, the bartender said that it was for all orders (whether you use cash or use credit/debit). This fee is not a tip. You still have to leave a tip. So 2 cranberry vodkas that’s $8 to $10 somewhere else can cost you about $20 (after tip). Total rip off. I was also concerned about the 10% charge on top if your cover. So instead $10, you pay $11. This is how they nickel and dime you. Neither the bar, nor the cover provided an itemized bill (I’d post it here if they did).

Additionally, we arrived early, (around 1030), but fewer than 10% of parking spaces were non-valet. That is, most of the parking (in the entire business park) were sectioned off with cones, and partitioned off for obligatory valet service. There’s no where to park! You must park valet. I’m not sure how much it was, but my guess is it was over priced. It rained that weekend and we noticed cars getting stuck in the mud when they parked in nearby grassy areas, I suppose trying to avoid being forced into valet.

Finally, I’d like to mention that the bouncer was super unprofessional. He hovered over the area where you pay your cover, and smoked hookah at that counter. I suppose it’s acceptable, if you like second hand hookah smoke getting blown in your face. Lack of courtesy for patrons, and shame on management for...

I enjoy attending their Wednesday EDM nights, as I'm an old-school raver that hasn't stopped dancing! Or enjoying this style of music. There's usually a door cover for headliners, BUT if you know a promoter, you can usually score cheap tickets ($10), and that's to see big names like Kill the Noise, Pegboard Nerds, Delta Heavy, Breathe Carolina, Bonnie X Clyde, Martin Garrix... the list goes on! The local resident DJs throw down sick sets as well. Trap, house, and hardstyle usually bang out the speakers, but you'll hear breaks and DnB sometimes.

As the club name states, there's an outdoor rooftop lounge (and bar) with ample space to dance or stand around and mingle. Plenty of lounge sections to relax with your friends. Enjoy hookah services! There's an indoor bar as well. The centre stage is only slightly elevated, allowing you be at high five or fist bump status level with the DJ(s). There's also a couple of VIP areas and bottle service. Great sound system and visuals!
