The owners are wonderful breaths of fresh air. Mom and pop shop, from food truck to restaurateurs, inside of the shell gas station. It will not be long before they have a full fledged brick and mortar. I came in with the google store hours wrong, and menu as well. I wanted 3 beef bolognese and 1 mamamia. It turns out they were out of beef bolognese. I substituted for 2 spaghetti and meatballs for the kids and a chicken marsala for myself (wife got the mamamia). They talked to me while preparing my food, told me the story of how they came to be in the storefront from an accident with the food truck, and now are working on going fulltime brick and mortar. I wasn't even phased by the out of stock beef bolognese by the conversation i had with them. They gave me extra garlic bread and meatballs for the kids. Got home and these are healthy portions. Filled to the brim, and piping hot. The kids were quiet when eating. You know its good when that happens, the wide was ecstatic, oh the mamamia is spicy have a taste. It was delicious, the marsala was creamy and sweet. There are not many italian restaurants around my neighborhood, so i hope they are thinking of staying local. I highly recommend. They open 6 am and close at 8 pm. They serve tacos and mexican food as well. The owner was telling me he was a chef and it shows in his food. Well worth a try. The only thing i didnt like was no chairs to sit while waiting, as again it is inside a shell...
Read moreI decided to try their pastas Chocken Marsala and Beef Bolognes. She mentioned the Marsala was "sweet" but I thought no blog deal. I should've listened and ordered something else. I'll get to that in a bit. When I got home and opened the bag I was disappointed to see they had sprinkled a generous amount of grated parmesan on both dishes. I personally don't like parmesan so I would suggest they ask their customers if they'd like some. My 4 year old loves the Beef Bolognes my 14 year old not so much. Now, let's get to the Chicken Marsala when she said sweet I wasn't thinking like pure sugar sweet like a dessert but that's exactly what it was. I couldn't get past it. I had to drain it and make an entirely different dish with it myself. So if you're not used to a very sweet Chicken Marsala I wouldn't spend the $on this. The garlic bread had too much garlic butter for me but my 14 year old said that was the only thing that was good in her opinion. She mentioned the Bolognes was a little on the sweet side too.. just FYI. I gave it 2 stars because my son...
Read moreMy fiancée and I decided to try this place out because it was something new for us. We ordered a seafood alfredo, Chicken Masala, and a side of Bruschetta. All after tip, $50. Everything came with Garlic bread that seemed to be missing garlic. The alfredo was ok, added parmesan and pepper flakes when I got it home and it still wasn't the greatest. Very little flavor. The Chicken Masala was practically a dessert. Masala is a savory dish, there shouldn't be any sugar anywhere near it, but it reminded me of bill miller's sweet tea. The chicken tasted like it was marinaded in teriyaki sauce. I'm really not sure what happened here. The bruschetta (Pictured) was soaked in balsamic vinegar and topped with massive chunks of goat cheese. Where everything else had too little or off flavors, this had WAY too much and wrong flavors. I try to be easy on food reviews because everyone enjoys things differently, but when the recipes are so far from what is listed, it's hard to do. I honestly hate that I blew $50 and can't bring...
