Mi Rancho — Restaurant in San Antonio

Food

Mi Rancho has had some of the best Mexican dinner plates I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. Entrées are well prepared, hearty, and dressed; The tortilla chips are hand made from scratch making them truly artisan.

I usually get beef enchiladas when I visit and again the portions are hearty for the price, I have not come across any to beat them yet! Of worthy note on this plate is the rice and beans....I almost never eat them ANYWHERE (ask my friends!) yet here I leave my plate clean. Why? They are also homemade, there is a wonderful separation of flavors and a nice hint of spice; the beans are of a perfect consistency (not runny nor thick and coarse).

Decor

This isn't one of those little shanty taquerias on the side of the road. This is a HUGE restaurant. Complete with a bar, TVs, and stage for karaoke and bands. Inside is colorful (in a good way!) as the walls and ceiling are covered in painting not just a solid color (can you say any other place that has a ceiling mural?!). Even the exterior and grounds are amazing, definitely photo worthy.

Service

Our servers are always nice and friendly. I can't say much here since I let others do the talking as I unfortunately do not speak or understand much of any Spanish :/ Though I have their affirmations on...

The restaurant itself is not fancy at all and the location seems to be a little out of the way but the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Everyone in my party had something different from the breakfast menu, which we all enjoyed. Our breakfast platters included anywhere from juevos rancheros to migas with cheese which came with refried beans and country fried potatoes. The meals included delicious homemade, freshly made, flour tortillas. We witnessed them being made. Our waitress kept our coffee fresh and gave us excellent service. The restaurant had music playing, has a separate bar area for the evening hours and numerous pictures and Mexican artifacts. Fun place to try when in the neighborhood. Lunch specials during the week are offered. Great place to bring friends and/or family! I had a great experience...

Omg don't even go there 😭 it was so sad. Let's 👀 🙈 I ordered beef fajitas with rice and beans 😝 they were rubbery and cold so I sent them back, I also ordered a margaritas on the rock it was like a cup of water and sugar and the color green I'm sorry but it was really bad I was so disappointed. I'm a food critic and post all the time. This isn't worth your time and money. The waitress tried to trick us on our bill you really have to pay attention because they don't expect you too. But if you do go look at the baseboards they are so so dirty its really sad that they can't hire someone to paint them a pretty white and keep the place a little cleaner. Thank you thats all I have to say. Oh my guest also were not to happy about the food but they are to embarrassed...
