OAK & SAINT — Restaurant in San Antonio

I was very excited to try this coffee shop. I live about 25 minutes away from it, so it was a drive. When I got here the doors were locked. A woman saw me looking around and said “they should be open, try knocking”. I knocked waited around and knocked again and no answer. I drove around for 10 minutes thinking there was another entrance and there wasn’t. I came back to my he front door and tried again and still no answer. This time another potential customer was also knocking. I ended up leaving because nobody came to the door. I was looking forward to trying this coffee shop. The website says it closes at 12am and the time is 5:06PM currently. I would understand if a sign on the door said they closed early because life happens and I get that. The overall vibe of the place is cute and very trendy/modern. It’s definitely photo worthy! I was excited to visit as I’ve been following them on Instagram since they opened. However, I do feel it’s a little misleading as the actual coffee area is very small with limited seating. I’m an avid coffee shop goer and have to admit, the one-size cup for iced drinks is small and is about the same price as other shops. I wish it was a little bigger or even just given more size options. The barista wasn’t the friendliest and when asked about syrups, she told me to scan the QR code for the full menu. I’ve lived in San Antonio for 2 years and had no idea this gem existed until I saw an ad pop up on instagram yesterday. Wow! Just wow. This place is a whole vibe. Immediately felt my shoulders relax with the calm minimalistic aesthetic and chill soundtrack.

No way could this place feel amazing AND offer legit espresso drinks, right? Wrong. My iced oat milk latte was so smooth and perfectly balanced sweetness. My husband’s cortado was chef’s kiss.

Pastries were so delish that we got some to go.

This place isn’t close to my house, but I don’t care. I’ll be back.
