Do not eat here. They were forced to close due to poor health standards.
From KSAT: Quik Wok, located on the 7100 block of Tezel Road, received a score of 85 during its health inspection in January.
The inspection report revealed the presence of both live and dead insects throughout the establishment. Additionally, food items in the reach-in cooler were improperly stacked on top of one another without protective barriers.
The business faced several other issues, including an expired food permit, the absence of a certified food manager, and expired food handler certifications. A lack of hot water led to the inspector temporarily shutting the establishment down until the problem was resolved.
Tim Gerber, a KSAT Investigates reporter, visited the restaurant this week to check on the status of these violations. However, employees avoided answering questions, retreating to the back and shutting the kitchen door.
While waiting, Gerber observed that the restaurant had not displayed its most recent inspection report. Instead, a report from June of last year was posted. Ultimately, no employees returned to provide further...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate to post this but itās really bothering me. I have ordered from this place many times because the food is genuinely great. However, almost each time I place my order online it seems to never fully go through. Because of this Iāll have to wait another 45-60 minutes for my food to eventually arrive. Which I donāt mind because I am still getting my food and itās so delicious. However, today is just so bad. I placed an order around 12:12pm and showed that my order was being processed. When the 30-45 minute mark arrived I checked on the status and it still showed it being processed. Iāve called the restaurant about 9 times already and no one has picked up. Each time I call it goes to an automated recording saying the mailbox is full. It is now 1:08pm and my food is not here and no one has yet to pick up the phone. I donāt know what to do at this point. I donāt even want the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI live in Northchase just across Tezel. We've been meaning to try this place since it opened and finally did last night. It was very convenient. I used the online ordering. It said I would get an email when my order was ready but I never got the email. I finally just went in and found my food waiting for me.
The food was fine. Not worse than you would get in a regular Chinese buffet place, but not better either. I'm pretty sure there is a giant Chinese food factory somewhere that sends out the same food to all the different places. I was also confused by some of the menu items. I wanted the fried wontons wrapped around cream cheese so I ordered fried wontons. Those are just the plain wrappers fried into a flat sheet. That's on me but I still don't know what the thing I actually wanted is called. I might phone in my...
