Don Romo’s Cantina — Restaurant in San Antonio

Owner/Manager was nice but…I ordered around 10/1030 pm Friday night and they didn’t have lemonade because they were “almost closing”. They messed up my order and when I asked about it they said they didn’t have chicken enchiladas because it was “late and almost closing”. Their hours say open till 2am. 1030 isn’t “almost closing”. I ordered cheese enchiladas and only got 2 (that’s a child’s plate at some restaurants). My mini tacos missing grilled onion (that I asked for twice). And the girl who took my order didn’t know anything (she may have been in training but I got the feeling she had not taken many food orders). My daughters quesadilla tasted like fish. So I went looking and checking out for the 5 ⭐️& reviews at a good Mexican place that was nearby. I decided to go with this restaurant that was a 4.5 rating. Biggest mistake ever. First off there was not one person inside dinning. Ordering (take out) the food, what I thought by reading the reviews would be good, to be disappointed. The enchiladas sauce was not good. My husband had the beef tacos and the food upset his stomach he had to keep using the restroom. Ohh also the lady server ordered me an extra plate ontop of my order. OVERALL IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND 👎🏾 DONT EVEN WAIST YOUR TIME. Bad just BAD BAD FOOD. The manager was super nice, but not good...

*In response to the owner: I can appreciate that these are hard times, but my experiences predate covid, so you can't really use that as the reason. I have had this issue for years. I wish you good luck through these difficult times.

The food is good, and the staff is friendly, but the service is always slow. They seem understaffed. Every time I call an order in, it isn't ready when they say.
