Ok, so this review is for old times sake. I see a lot of bad ones lately and I got management is paying attention. This is for la Raza!! Lol. Ok that felt good.
Anyway, so we used to come to this place because a guy we called tio had a car shop a few blocks that way and they ended up getting busted and stuff, I digress, ANYWAYS, they got busted and we stopped coming. BUT, for the year, year and a half that I lived there, this has where we ate just shut every day breakfast and lunch. The guys was AMAZING!!! I I remember writing a review for it on Yelp or something.
The food was authentic to say the least. And the service was great! I remember the waitresses all had tight blue jeans on and, it was back in the Rocky mountain jeans era so you can imagine. Woot woot!!!! It was also way before the me-too movement so you could still talk to a woman and appreciate her as if she was a woman, because women are beautiful and they're made as man's companion and should be cherished. You could be friendly with them and play around and as long as you were doing it with respect it was okay, Because they knew that you were going to tip well. It wasn't a trade-off and it wasn't disrespect, it was just the way things were done and it was okay. I remember one time we stayed for like 4-5 hours and we ended up eating both breakfast and lunch while we were there and laughed and laughed and laughed and it was a memory that was good enough to stay in my head for all these years. It truly is a pay point in my life. I hope they straighten up. I'm gonna visit soon and...
Read more"Support Small Business, Support Local!" My voyage into San Antonio food eateries continued tonight at Taqueria El Gallo de Jalisco. Interior looked like a classic Mexican side road Taqueria, (red/white/green) stripes boldy painted on the wall accented the same tile coloring/pattern on the floor. A few Gallo pictures on the walls with funny quotes plaques gave this taqueria a pleasant unassuming atmosphere. I had their "Gallo" combination plate which includes 2 chz enchiladas, beef crispy taco, beef tostada, rice and beans. Everything was very tasty, rice and beans tasted fresh made and had good flavor/seasoning. I also tried their chicken flauta and beef fajita gordita ala'carte. Chicken again had a great flavor, you could taste a bit of chili pepper(jalapeno) and tomato they used to make the shredded chicken shell was nice and crispy. Fajita meat was OK, not as much seasoning/flavor as I expected tasted same as their Carne asada, they just added grilled onions. The WINNER of the night was my wife's CHICKEN MOLE ENCHILADA!! Loved the mole sauce!! Best one in all of San Antonio!! PERFECT BALANCE OF SPICE,...
