I was excited to try this place because of the reviews but I was somewhat disappointed on several levels. First the good, the place is clean, service is good and the food was okay in general this is why I gave 2 stars. I ordered the Eggs & More which on mine had scrambled eggs with cheese, hashbrowns, bacon and toast. I also ordered a short stack of pecan pancakes to go along with it. When we got our food, I put pepper on the eggs (there's a reason I'm telling you this) and took a bite and they were cold! I then took a bite of the hashbrowns and they were cold too. I touched the bacon and toast and they were cold. I touched the pancakes and they were hot. When she came back with my boyfriend's food I told her everything was cold and she apologized and took the plate. I thought I'd get fresh eggs and hashbrowns but she came back after 2 mins and gave them back to me. They were hot but they were the same eggs and hashbrowns because they still had the pepper I'd added to the eggs. I mean, really?? 😐 I was too hungry to argue and I wasn't sending them back again so I ate them. The eggs were over cooked and somewhat dry and the toast was still cold so I didn't eat that. Now, for the pancakes...they were good and had lots of pecans but were sooo dense, not light and fluffy so I couldn't even finish them. Honestly, I probably won't be going back and would've felt better spending almost $30 at one of my other favorite places with much better food.

The Broken Egg Cafe was so worth the drive. Restaurant was packed on a Saturday morning. Picture is only part of their breakfast menu. The seasoning & grill flavor on the pork chops & eggs was perfect, with a side of toast & potatoes. The meat omelette with chorizo added was packed & too big to finish. The biscuits & gravy taste like your favorite grandmas old recipe. Staff was so friendly. Compliments to the gentleman at the front counter. & to the older gentleman asking people how their food was. Waitress could have been a little more accommodating but we were ok with it since they were packed & the food made up for it. Can’t wait to return to try other breakfast items & try their lunch menu. And of course to bring more family next time. Luckily we got an extra meal with our to go boxes. Returned to Broken Egg Cafe. Love the delicious taste of home cooking. Everything so fresh. The breakfast bowl perfectly grilled with eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage & cheese. Food is worth the wait. Will definitely keep returning. Waitress is so friendly & great at her job.

I was so disappointed after seeing the ratings. This place had to see how run down and the lights were flickering and I have seizure disorder so I ended up having to leave before my meal was even finished. But I'm going to upload pictures to show you just how how bad it was. I ordered the chicken and waffle. The chicken stole the show. The waffle was cardboard, I ordered the biscuits and gravy which they told me was house made and I think that they just meant that they actually just made it in the house. Not that they made it from scratch. They were flat pasty and I'm pretty sure the gravy came from a packet. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place unless you are just coming around for hangover food. The service was okay. The coffee was mid but if you like chicken tenders that was the best part about the entire meal. My wife and my friend both got the french toast. One got stuffed. The other one got normal. Both of them were undercooked, the stuffed version was just store-bought cream cheese shoved in the middle. Just not a good look.

I'm all about supporting local small businesses and I'm not one to slam a business with a one star unless it's extraordinarily earned. They've earned it. I've been here twice and both times I left feeling as though I'd feel better about myself setting $40 on fire and throwing it out the window - but I wanted to be fair and give them another shot. Maybe first time was a fluke. Guess not. Lesson learned. Let's begin:

Lackluster service, exorbitantly overpriced (especially given the prison cafeteria ingredients), and tomb-like ambiance.

I decided to play it safe and go for biscuits and gravy with eggs over-medium, ham, and I added breakfast potatoes. The eggs were perfect (fuggin better be since it's their name).

However everything else goes south FAST. The biscuits were obviously of the previously frozen, store-bought variety. The country gravy did not have a single piece of sausage or anything resembling meat, was over seasoned with onion powder, and had the consistency of 2% milk. Drywall biscuits soaked in onion-flavored milk is not what I call breakfast.

The ham was a SINGLE slice of deli style shaved ham. I'm not saying that the piece of ham steak was too thin to my liking. No folks. I'm saying this is a single slice of thin sandwich ham tossed around a griddle for a few seconds. ...and that embarrassment of a piece of ham is now flavored with the runny onion milk all over my plate.

Lastly, my breakfast potatoes. Seasonings must be an extra charge because these potatoes, while perfectly cooked, tasted like, well, potatoes. Nothing more and nothing less. Bland-as* potatoes.

Their coffee was pedestrian at best but you wouldn't know it by their price. They charge like it's an exotic roast bean and artisanal brew.

Goodbye Broken egg. Best of luck in your...

I looked at the reviews before took my family for brunch.there was a sign that read please ve patient because of short staffing.having taking it into consideration.we got coffee orange juice 2 chocolate and strawberry chocolate and ordered our food long story short the meal wasnt bad but however the entire order was botched and we asked for refills just to never get them, as waitresses and waiters would pass by with pots full of coffee with our cups on the edge of the table as the indicator that screams refill please and never got them I got about a 20 dollar discount for the horrible service.but the fact of the matter is we did as the sign said and were patient and the end result was just the service was the worse i asked for country sausage with my meal and got bacon. My youngest sons order had to be reordered. And it makes no sense why when it was the 1st thing we ordered initially.even he was upset that after we ordered it again and 10 minutes later it arrived he simply didnt want it at which point we had all had enough and said its time to go.if im spending money to have a meal with my family id like the order to be what we are paying for not what they prefer for us to have or just being short staffed if.goes with that saying if you cant take the heat stay out of the kitchen.or should I say some people simply cant and never will be able to work under the gun.im a sport I...
