This is my first poor rating for Tiu Steppi. We have been loyal since the day they opened. We have loved it and consider this one of our top places to go and eat. Not just for the Italian food, but also the atmosphere. It's always been 4 or 5 stars. Today, food was a 3, staff 3, atmosphere 2. Will give it an overall 3. First, the booth we were seated at is one of our normal booths. While we were having our appetizer, a woman and 2 children sat down in the corner booth next to us. They were either the owner or owners wife and the kids were all over the place, toys all over the bench seat and as far as right next to us, the staff were over at all times kissing you know what, and what really set us off was that the staff were right next to our table, and at times, even touching our table with their body while speaking to her and her children. The food arrives and I must say, it was mediocre. I will not specify what we had as we will try it again as they have earned that right. But, of all these years, the first poor grade. I have also noticed since the last few visits, the staff has changed and the normal staff we're used to are gone. I was excited, at first, with the waiter we had because he's been great before. Only 1 of 2 I still recognize. My feeling is, the owner or owners spouse need to be away from the main dining room if this is the normal way business is conducted. Only the first time experiencing this, but hopefully, the atmosphere and food are not changing for the worse. And if the owner is reading this, please show other customers respect and allow us to enjoy our time there and I hope your food will be back to the way it was prior to tonight. Even the garlic knotts seemed to be the old recipe that was pretty much dough balls...

I had high hopes after reading reviews but was really disappointed. Ordered sweet tea that tasted old. Once added additional tea it got better but still off. We shared prosciutto wrapped fried Mozzarella. That was actually delicious with the arugula and calabrase peppers and unfortunately the best part of our meal. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. The Eggplant could have been cut a bit thicker but the breading was not too thick or overpowering. My biggest issue was they skimped on the marinara. Once it mixed with the asiago Parmesan sauce on the angel hair pasta it lost something. The marinara sauce was really good. The angel hair pasta was slightly overcooked but it wasn't mushy. The biggest disappointment was the Chicken Saltimbocca. To begin with the prosciutto wrapped around chicken was too thick overcooked and hard to cut. The chicken underneath was over salted and mostly overcooked. Between the salty prosciutto and salty chicken your taste buds we asalted. The description said artichokes not marinated artichoke. That is a small issue. They also stated it would have arugula and calabrase peppers that could have cut down on how salty the dish was. Found only 2 small sprigs of arugula and no calabrase peppers at all.I tried a bite and it took two bites of my pasta just to rid my over salted taste buds. Total bill was $75 plus tip. I will never penalize the wait staff so with 20% tip just overall not worth the price. I don't see myself giving this place...

Great Italian restaurant with wonderful service. Decided to stop by for lunch and sat outside during the pandemic. Service was on point, the server went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, was diligent to make sure I had plenty of water since it was a little warm out. I ordered the calamari appetizer as my main dish, it was delicious and a generous portion. I didn't take a picture because I ate half of it quickly, and although I did have some left to take home. I didn't want to take a photo that didn't show you the plate when they first brought it out, it looked so good!❤️ The salad is a house salad, with house vinegrate. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The garlic knots brought out with it were a little hard, but they did taste good with the butter and herbs that came with them. Overall, I give them Five😋😋😋😋😋 yummy faces, great lunch experience! Hidden gem. 👍

Update: We keep going back! Went again for dinner last night before the Valentines day rush. Had great service and the food was delicious 😋 👌

We ordered the Margherita Pizza, and Grilled Rainbow Trout. 🌈 🐟🍕 Perfect evening all around. The staff is just so helpful and it shows that whoever owns thus place makes sure they manage it well. They don't take dinner reservations so you may have to wait a little bit, but, that doesn't bother us. This night we actually beat the crowd and we were sat fairly quickly. All depends on when you get there. Dinner seems to be...

My wife and I recently ordered takeout from Tiu Steppi's Osteria, hoping to enjoy a nice Italian meal at home. We decided on the Fettuccine Alfredo, with an added portion of chicken for mine, which alone cost an extra $7! To complement the pasta, we also ordered a Burrata. However, when we got home and opened our meals, we were shocked. My wife's pasta portion looked fine, but mine—despite paying extra for chicken—barely had any pasta at all! It was honestly laughable. I was left hungry and completely unsatisfied. For a meal that cost us $100, I would expect much more, especially considering it's just pasta. I could have made this dish at home for a fraction of the price and with better quality. Speaking of quality, the food didn't even taste that good! Both the flavor and texture were underwhelming. I've had way better meals for much less money. Tiu Steppi's Osteria has certainly lost me as a customer. To anyone considering eating here, save your money and head to Whataburger or Olive Garden instead. You'll get better food, more satisfying portions, and not feel cheated out of your hard-earned cash. I've attached photos of our meals so you can see the absurd difference between the portions. Mine, with chicken, is on the right—notice how much smaller it is compared to my wife's dish on the left, which had no chicken! I would never recommend this place. What a rip-off.

Where to begin is the question! I loved the interior of this place during the day so I can only imagine it at night. Kaban says it is a good place to take a date! Anyhow, the service was outstanding and my cup never ran dry. The waiter was young and well mannered and the floor manager quite attentive as well. Definitely I place I will be visiting again when I return to Texas! I provided photos in order of my visit, starting with the view from my table. The second photo is of some complimentary Garlic Rolls that had an Olive Oil blend in the bowl. The next couple photos are of the Bruschetta as served and up close. There are six total slices. It was light, fresh, and very well flavored. Total winner. Next they brought out stuff for the pizza so I snapped a photo of that. Finally we get to the entree with what is called "Pesto Pizza" and has Chicken, Arugula, and many other things. It was excellent and they have many pizza choices that are amazing, which can include building your own. Final thoughts: This place is amazing and well worth a trip. If you're at Candlewood Suites or Holiday Inn you can walk there as it is just across the street. Winner for the dinner! *If you found my review helpful, please give it a like! That helps me out! Thanks in advance!
