Well.... as far as the food goes, portions was enough to be full. No complaints as far as flavor and food prep. Pancakes were great, although with omelet/pancake it's $2 extra to replace toast. Usually, there's no extra charge or maybe an extra dollar most places I've been. Still, not the horrible. I did like that on my custom omelet I chose avocado and I had plenty of it!
Cons: I ordered a side of sour cream, but once my food came, I received salsa instead. By the time I looked over my food and noticed it was missing, the server couldn't hear me. I would see my server as well as some others, but they would never look my direction. It seemed one or two other customers were trying to get someone as well. They seemed to be extremely task focused (which i understand). At least they weren't just talking and doing nothing. The issue was that it took 10+ minutes to flag down another server to request sour cream and more drink. By then, all I had left was barely half of my remaining omelet. I think this restaurant could use someone to check on customers since the servers seem to be very busy.
Overall: Unsure if I will be back... But I'm a huge pancake lover. I've also been making them from a very young age (6). I can be very picky when it comes to pancakes, but these were excellent. Who knows maybe most times the service is as good...
Read moreDear Brothers Family Restaurant Owners,
I recently visited your location on Waring Road in San Diego with a friend, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Despite being recommended by my friend, who lives in the neighborhood, the customer service fell short of expectations.
On Monday, September 8th, at around 9:15 a.m., we were seated immediately in the crowded restaurant. However, we didn't feel welcomed with genuine smiles and friendly faces. The crowd started slowing down, which made it a quieter atmosphere. We started to order with questions and were told to wait. My friend requested more decaffeinated coffee multiple times, but it took four attempts. Each said they would tell someone, but the last resort was when I stood up and walked toward the kitchen to find someone for more coffee. Ridiculous. There is no reason to be treated this way.
It seemed to me that the employees were unhappy and did not genuinely care for the customers. I hope you will take our feedback seriously, consider improving your customer service, and figure out why they are trying to sabotage your efforts to make Brothers restaurant our neighborhood favorite. Build a stronger team that cares for themselves and...
Read moreFirst time at this place and my experience was 🤷🏽♂️. If it's your first time going there, I'll advise against sitting at the bar unless the cashier or server acknowledges you. Otherwise they might think you are waiting for a to-go order. The reason behind that argument is that when you walk in the cashier is facing inside the dining room, so that person's back is facing the door. So, I spent 3 before I was asked if I was eating in or taking out and another 8-10 minutes for a server to even stop and take my order even though plenty were just in the kitchen walking or just talking in the corner with the cashier. The food is good, I do wish they had a description of the steak cut (example : oz or thickness). My steak was cooked well done when I had ordered medium well - I will say that was part of my fault but without any context of the type of cut I had to go with that option. Country potatoes were good and well seasoned, same with the eggs. Coffee was alright. Take away:
