Just visited CoCo Curry during their soft opening and already can’t wait to go back for the grand opening. The place has super cute décor that immediately gives off warm Thailand vibes — think colorful accents, cozy seating, and tropical touches that transport you straight to Chiang Mai.
I ordered the Khao Soi curry with crispy pork belly, and my girlfriend had the Panang curry with salmon. Both curries were rich, flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat for most people — though I personally like things spicier, so I added some chilis and peppers to bring it up to my level. The pork belly was perfectly crispy and tender, but I found myself wishing there was just a bit more of it. On the other hand, the salmon was a generous portion and cooked beautifully.
We tried both egg noodles and rice with our curries — and while the rice was solid, the egg noodles stole the show for me with their chewy, satisfying texture.
We also shared a papaya salad, which was bright, refreshing, and balanced in flavor. I gave it a little kick with extra spice to really hit that nostalgic Thai street food feeling.
All in all, CoCo Curry is already off to a great start. Looking forward to coming back for the grand opening — the duck is...
Read moreI was able to sample all of the curries here and they were all really good. I ended up going with the Khao Soi with jasmine rice and crispy chicken. You get to choose a side dish and I went with the papaya salad. I kind of wish they had an option for just thinly sliced chicken, mainly because that is what I'm used to when I have chicken as the protein in my curries. I did enjoy the flavors of the papaya salad, but I think the longer, thinner strands (think spiral cut/veggie noodles) of papaya better preserve the crunch compared to when it is grated in the large holes of a box grater.
I also ordered Thai tea with coconut milk and it was quite good. I do wish the rice and curry were better separated so that way the rice doesn't get too soggy with the sauce from the curry.
The restaurant starting picking up as we were finishing up our lunches. There is a panel divider to help divide the entryway from the dining area, I would suggest perhaps taking out the panel closest to the door when foot traffic is high as it can make it slightly awkward squeezing by other patrons that are in line.
Will definitely be coming back here...
Read moreLove this small business! Not only do they make greats eats but they are very friendly as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the yellow curry over sliced chicken breast and brown rice with a side of grilled carrots, not to mention the three hot house sauces they offer. The meal cost $15.85 plus tax.
There were a lot of good things going on here. First of all, the yellow curry was very well, seasoned, with a mild heat, and delicious. The yellow potatoes and carrots in the curry were tender. The chicken was tender and had that nice grilled flavor, and the brown rice underneath, was properly cooked and had very good texture. The grilled carrots, that I choose from the variety of sides, were very too. Everything was delicious!
The hot sauce were great. They are all made in house from grandmother's recipes. The chili paste was fantastic, the green sauce offered a fish sauce base, which was great, and the one with the thinly sliced Thai chili peppers was wonderful.
The service was super friendly and welcoming. The place offers a modest amount of inside seating. It gives off a cool clean modern look. This place is a keeper. I...
