Frutería Don Chamango # 1 — Local services in San Diego

If you're coming here expecting decent customer service, you won't find that here - not even a greeting. We have been here several times as we live close by and my kiddos enjoy a snack/dessert here and there. Food quality is a hit or miss. This evening's visit would be the last for us as we came in and of course, no greeting, smile or any indication of it being a welcoming establishment. We ordered a smoothie and a couple bags of chips with condiments instead of sorbet/ice cream after my son pointed out the dead flies that were accumulated in their ice cream cart/cases. We waited as 2 families ordered right after us and they got their smoothies before ours. Our chip bags were left opened on the counter for the entire duration of the wait. When they handed the chips bags to me, the condiments (lime juice, chamoy and hot sauce) were all carelessly spilled on the outside of the bag.

On that note, the cherry on top... normally they are solo ran - it's rare that I would see more than 1 employee working at a time and there were 2 tonight. I watched as the newer employee served ice cream without gloves, used the same hand she just used the scooper with and wiped her mouth and returned that hand right back to the scooper to finish off scooping the...

Went in with my boyfriend to get some snacks, he ordered a ice cream milkshake & we immediately noticed the guys bad vibe towards my boyfriend(he's black) my boyfriend was being super nice and he still was really rude. I let it go because we didn't think much of it, untill we started asking questions about what the banana split contained, he pretty much was out of a lot of stuff, plus he was so rude when we asked questions so I decided not to get anything my boyfriend tried his milkshake and it was extremely milky, the worker said thats how they taste. I nicely asked if I can get my refund back because last time we came the lady was super nice and made an amazing job with our milkshakes, she was super nice but on the other hand the guy should be fired, my boyfriend isn't the only black man he's been rude to, I seen theire reviews and he's also rude to other customers. If this had a 0 star review i would def give it a 0, I will NEVER go back to this place when this man is working there. He also didn't rinse his utensils and when making ny milkshake he used his fingers to scrape the icwcream off the spoon. Super dirty man. Do not recommend to buy when...

Have not been there in a year but i was so upset with the service i never wanted to step foot there again. I went one night with my 3 girls, when i parked around the back it started pouring rain, we quickly got down as one of the workers was going into the back door. We thougt it was an entrance so we tried to go in behind him. He left us there in the pouring rain. He could have at least been polite about asking us to go around. Anyway. I ordered a chamango large. Quite expensive. I took my first sip and felt like i was sipping on pure sugar. The mango flavor was almost non existant because it was so overpowered by the sugar. I tried to complain. And he didnt care. He said thats what they taste like. I was so upset that he was just so devoid of compassion and had a very carless attitude when i told him it didnt taste right. I left and tried to drink again later. I just could not stomach it. I threw the whole thing away. Good money...
