I recently visited Lark and Owl in La Jolla with my son, and we had a delightful experience. The location is cozy and inviting, with comfortable open seating that creates a relaxed atmosphere perfect for families.
We ordered the pastrami and meatball sandwiches, along with a strawberry and banana smoothie. The sandwiches were very flavorful, with high-quality ingredients and perfectly toasted bread. The pastrami sandwich was particularly impressive, earning a solid 9 out of 10 in my book, although I would have enjoyed it even more if the meat were warmer, more plentiful, and juicier.
The meatball sub was also very well-made and clearly crafted to their specific style. While I appreciate their take on it, my personal preference leans towards a version with more meatballs, sauce, and melting cheese. For example today ordered a chick Parm sub and got a turkey avocado sub. Not sure how that can happen when I always provide my name when calling in the order. Anyway the food is great but there are problems as I outlined that have been happening since they...
