I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Barre + bay wreath. I've been going to this studio for a few months now and it feels like a second home. Erika, the owner and her lovely staff have made the place comfortable and a judgement free zone. The charm of the studio, the dedication of the staff and friendly faces of the the ladies who are new to barre and expert barre practitioners are what keeps me coming back for more.
I've practiced Barre for over 2 years now and it has become my main form of exercise. Before barre, I've tried traditional gyms and strength and conditioning training over the years and nothing compares to Barre.
I've practiced at 3 different barre studios during that 2 year span and this studio by far fits my needs in every way. The studio is charming, relaxed and comfortable. The instructors are not drill sergeants. They teach with ease, loving hearts and will work with you on your individual needs if you ask!
At Barre + bay wreath, I am able to fully focus on my tuck and truly isolate muscle groups in a graceful and individual way. The instructors adjust as needed to help you get the best form to maximize your workout and will fully work with you on your own goals or clarifications needed during a difficult pose or transition.
I think Barre is a state of mind and not just a workout. At this studio, for one hour I can forget about the stressors in my life, anxieties, and the endless to do lists. That one hour is so precious for me and balances my energies for the day or evening. I truly love this workout and how Erika and her staff support me during it. They will be adding yoga to the mix and she also does New moon events if you're into women empowerment, manifesting, and living the life you want! This studio fully supports all women in a...
Read moreI can't say enough great things about BARRE + bay wreath. The space is oozing with curb appeal, which is exactly the kind of business you'd want moving into your neighborhood. (I live down the street.) To match the beauty of the space, the owner and her supporting ladies are just as lovely. They're so welcoming, professionally kind and competent.
What I remain the most impressed with is the superior knowledge and technique of the instructors. I am new to this barre technique, but Erika's ability to cue as she goes along and then follow up with more detailed explanations of movements is really incredible. Even a newbie like me was able to hang in there :) And I felt confident that I at least understood what my body should be doing...even if the strength and control of my muscles haven't caught on all the way yet! haha
One more bonus: during their outdoor classes held under a tent, BARRE + bay wreath provides you with all of sanitized equipment, unlike other local spots that ask you to bring your own weights, mats, bands, etc.
Definitely worth a visit! While you WILL walk away sore, you won't walk away...
Read moreMy experience with BARRE + bay wreath has been absolutely great so far. I'm so happy I have found a barre studio and a new fitness home in San Diego.
The moment you step in the studio, you feel instantly stress-free and in a comfortable environment. It is cutely decorated, includes a bathroom and changing rooms, in case you need to change quickly coming from work. Plenty of parking outside of the studio is a plus too.
The classes are challenging but fun. I'm always wanting to come back to see if I can improve more. The first few barre classes can feel confusing, but all the instructors made diving into classes feel comfortable and especially Erika (the owner and an instructor) helped all us newbies catch up to speed and showed different modifications to ensure no future injuries. I especially appreciate all instructors correcting my form too. This is one of the few barre studios I've been too where I don't feel like I'm lost the entire class. Big thank you to all the instructors! I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a good sweat and...
