Tahini Authentic Middle Eastern Street Food — Restaurant in San Diego

If you like fresh, delicious food that is full of flavor, you have to try this place! I love the pitas and the rice bowls. I frequent the Clairemont Mesa restaurant too, and I am in love with their food. Like, think about it all the time kind of love.

This is on the UCSD campus, so it's open Mon- Fri and outdoor seating only. Its a gorgeous area and there is an underground parking garage. The staff is so friendly and happy it filled up my Soul too.

I got a bowl with Rice + Steak + Sriracha Tahini + Garlic Sauce + Pickled Turnips + Pickled Cucumbers + Parsley Mix + Onions. I love how you can customize the bowl or pita and have so many possibilities. I never thought I would like pickled vegetables on a rice bowl, but wow is it good. I also love a Pita + Steak + Toasted Almonds + Parsley Mix + Cilantro Tahini. The chicken has been great too.

Another new favorite is fries on the pita! I got: Steak, Cilantro Tahini, Garlic Sauce, pickles, onions, shredded cheese and fries. It was like a unique burger but better. Yum.

I am such a sauce person, and their sauces make me so happy. Cilantro Tahini...who knew? I am also such a flavor person. You can certainly get this as plain as you want. But, I want to ramp up the flavor anywhere else. Here, it's like BAM. I seriously do the happy dance with every bite.

I have gotten to know the owners. They are such excellent people with a passion for their food! And, I love supporting a business when I know they are good people. These boys are the best!

We had a wonderful catered lunch for our department from Tahini. Our original caterer fell through a few weeks before our event so I reached out to Tahini to discuss options. The customer service we received was amazing from start to finish. They were knowledgeable, accommodating, and just a pleasure to work with.

The order (Chicken Shawarma package) was timely, it was packaged perfectly, and it was SO delicious. There are so many wonderful sides and sauces- everyone at our event kept raving about how fantastic the food was and how it was so nice to be able to customize their lunch. Some built a salad, or a bowl, or even a pita sandwich. The prices were more than reasonable, especially for the very generous portion sizes.

I recently picked up a catering order for a physician luncheon nearby. Not only was the food delicious, but the service at this restaurant is top notch!! The hot food was hot and kept separate from the refrigerated foods. Everything was fresh. Serving utensils, napkins and bowls were provided. There was an array of delicious fresh veggies and sauces that truly enhanced the meal. A staff member walked me to my car with a cart full of all the goodies and helped me load my vehicle.
