Trevi Ristorante & Pizzeria — Restaurant in San Diego

To quote comic book guy, "Worst Place Ever!". I ordered a Caesar Salad (Hearts of romaine lettuces, herbs, croutons, shaved Parmesan cheese with our homemade Caesar dressing. Served with homemade bread), Spaghetti Meatballs (Spaghetti with meatballs and homemade marinara sauce), Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara, (Chicken and shrimp with rigatoni pasta in a pancetta bacon Parmesan sauce).

Let's break this down:

Caesar Salad (Hearts of romaine lettuces, herbs, croutons, shaved Parmesan cheese with our homemade Caesar dressing. Served with homemade bread. Here is what we got, chopped romaine lettuce, no herbs, stale croutons, no Parmesan cheese, and a packet of Caesar dressing.

Spaghetti Meatballs (Spaghetti with meat balls and homemade marinara sauce), Here is what we got, over cooked spaghetti, three very small meatballs, and water-downed marinara sauce that tasted like it was out of a can.

Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara, (Chicken and shrimp with rigatoni pasta in a pancetta bacon parmesan sauce). Here is what we got, under cooked rigatoni pasta, about 2oz of chicken nibbles, pancetta bacon parmesan sauce that was ok, but tasted of garlic without pancetta, bacon nor parmesan, and 2.5 shrimps with the tail and shell still on.

The "garlic bread" that came with the food, was dry, stale, and not good.

I have driven by this place many times, wanting to try it. I'm very sad to say; that Trevi is staffed by very lazy cooks, and the amounts of chicken, shrimp, and meatballs is not worthy of the cost of the plates.

Sadly, I picked up my food, and it was not worth eating nor driving back to return it. However, If I ate there, I would have sent the food back, refused to pay, and walked out.

THE WORST TAKEAWAY EVER! In the process I was informed that information stated in their takeaway menu, that had been delivered to my room was outdated wrong information. That should have been my first clue to not place my order at this place. I placed an order for the Pasta Special from this restaurant yesterday, after confirming with the person taking the call, a Ms Norma that the food included was indeed vegetarian. When I do open the pack I find that the food had not been packed securely - it was in a broken container. And then to my horror I find that one of the main dishes actually contains chicken pieces in it! I call back the next day to find a resolution when Norma tells me "The chef made the mistake. It is not my fault. I cannot do anything about it." I try re-iterating to her that I have been charged for a dish that I had not placed an order for and that it was the restaurant's responsibility to which promptly came the response: "I don't own the restaurant so it is not my fault"! I asked to speak to the manager who I am told is not in. I use a take away service a lot - over decades. Never in all my years of travel anywhere in the world have I experienced such appalling customer service. Norma claims that she is the best cashier that this restaurant (if this place can even be called so) has. If this is indeed true I feel sorry for anyone who chooses to dine at / from this place. If it were possible to give a score of '0.5' I would have for the reason that they did...

Ordered over 50 dollars worth of food and it took one hour and twenty-three minutes or so to get to our hotel despite the fact that our hotel is less than 5 miles away from the restaurant. When the food finally arrived the pizza box was bent and smashed, the pasta sauce was over everything in the bag, our food was cold and soggy and we had to throw the whole thing away. When we called to inform the restaurant that our food was taking so long they said that they would see where it was and it arrived 15 minutes later. When we called again to inform them of the quality of food that we received they were rude and uncooperative, We had to wait over two hours to speak to someone who was able to refund our money they demanded that we give them the food that we had previously informed them we had to discard in order to get a refund. The last woman that we spoke to, who's name was Lisa, was exceptionally rude and made this ordeal that much worse. We would have been better off getting some burgers from McDonald's. I recommend that anyone else visiting San Diego avoid...
