This is my 4th time here and it will be my last. I understand it’s a popular food and boba spot, and for this reason you would think that the owners have a system in place to serve their long line of customers. They should have two separate lines for pick up and to place an order. I placed on online order so that my drinks/dessert would be ready by the time I arrived. I received an email confirmation at 8:35 notifying me that my order was ready. We arrived at 8:25 (before we even received a “your order is ready” confirmation email) and they asked my boyfriend to wait in the “place an order” line which placed him behind 12 customers waiting to place their initial order. I kid you not, my boyfriend waited in line and he did not pick up our order until 9:15 even though he got in line at 8:25 and we received our email confirmation at 8:35!!! By this time, my drinks had been sitting out for a while and my brownie was cold and hard as a rock! I had to come home and place it in the microwave for a minute for it to soften up and it was not worth it at all. I ended up throwing it away because the edges were still hard. This place is a waste of time and money and although I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses, especially during these difficult times, I just feel that the owners should have set a system in place by now. This happens every single time and they ask u to wait in line despite having ordered online to avoid the wait times. It doesn’t make sense. They’ve been open for years and they still haven’t figured a system out. If they cannot handle the amount of orders or accommodate their number of customers/online orders, then DO NOT have an online ordering option, especially if you do not have two separate lines to order...
Read moreDefinitely one of the top places to check out of you are in look for an amazing desert place... Totally in love with their Crêpes and the Honey Toast...
The best part about the crêpe was that it was stuffed with stuff as you would expect rather than just a few chunks inside... I had taken a Strawberry, Banana and Mango stuffed Crêpe with Nutella sauce and Dark Chocolate chips over it... The fruits were really fresh and were properly sweet... The dark chocolate chips were the icing on the cake... The crêpe was crisp and had just the right portion of sweetness to the same...
My friend had the Honey Toast with banana and mango with strawberry ice cream and nutella and condensed milk sauce... The honey toast on it's own was ecstasy and totally different style of the same... It's basically a huge thick brick toast cut into sections and with honey inside the toast... The toppings had made the special brick toast even better...
The Vietnamese coffee is a strong coffee with condensed milk... Its strong and really sweet... I didn't like it much cuz of the sweetness but then again if you like the taste of condensed milk really well then you would like it...
I had taken cafe mocha and was actually a good thing to sip on while enjoying the amazing desert that you would have ordered...
I loved the ambience - small and cute... That's kinda the downfall as well... I could get a table for me and my friend but judging by if you go during a weekend or peak hours you would be struggling to find a spot... I went their on a Wednesday evening by around 8 and still couldn't find a parking and had to street park almost a block away... That's why the shortage of a star...
But still I would totally recommend the same to all the...
Read moreIf it was Up2Me, I would not recommend any of the desserts or drinks at Up2You Cafe. Despite being surrounded by dessert and boba places, it's amazing how this place can even stay in business, especially when they are serving sub-par "puffle waffles" and "boba".
The first time I tried to make an online order for a "puffle waffle", they cancelled my order even though the order was placed 10 minutes before their last call, which is 10:30pm.
The second time I made an online order, I was even more disappointed than the first time. I ordered a "puffle waffle" with green tea ice cream and Mochi. I went to pick up the order and the girl working at the counter DROPPED my order as she was taking it out from behind the counter. She didn't even apologize and just picked it up and handed it to me. My disappointment didn't end there. When I opened the box, I discovered that they didn't give me any green tea ice cream, even though I paid extra for it. In the end, I was left with a sad, soggy, disheveled "puffle" that had multi-colored old soggy mochi bites randomly sitting on top of some whipped cream.
Needless to say, I will never be back to up2you cafe. There are countless better dessert options in San...
