Came in on a Sunday morning before 11am and the tables were near full. We only waited a few minutes before being seated. The weather was beautiful and we were seated in the second row closest to the window. We order OJ. Seemed like it was freshly squeezed. A little tart and full of pulp. ($3 per glass) For breakfast, we ordered: steak (medium) and eggs (scrambled) which came with toast and hash, Denver omelet also with toast and hash, and a presidential breakfast. Presidential breakfast included 3 pancakes, eggs, hash, choice of toast or English muffin, and a choice of protein: ham, sausage, bacon. The bacon was just as I liked, crispy and not greasy. I asked for soft scramble but it was overcooked. The steak was cooked will done even though we asked for medium, it was tasty. Classic Denver omelet. Cheesy and the filling was plentiful. Everything was delicious. Each dish is an average of $17. Atmosphere is...

Atmosphere is great with great views, ample parking and quietness. Under the dining room tables, you will find tons of food crumbs/bites and soiled napkins. Service is excellent. The server tries to go out of his way to bring you what you need. Menu looks good where you can envision the dish. The envisioned dish is a huge disappointment. The special of the day was spaghetti and meat balls. How can it go wrong? It was served in a bowl dish that was hardly filled with 3 meatballs. The meatballs were browned and looked crispy. You cut into the meatball and it is completely raw. Server asks if you want it recooked. Is the server out of his mind? Doesn't raw meat contaminate other cooked foods? The special desert was banana cream pie. They ran out even though we told the server we wanted it for desert when we ordered our food. Go for the atmosphere and forget the food unless you order a sandwich, soup...

On our trek back to the parking lot after a 4.8 mile lap around Lake Merced, we cut through the golf course and Cypress Grill is our pit stop to catch our breath for a sec...and also enjoy a quick snack and drink because why not : ) Was craving a good Bloody Mary. Unfortunately, it was just ok, not very well balanced and just missing something extra to make it memorable. I'm still on the hunt for something that will rival the BM at The Ramp. The search continues. How about a snack? We tried the hot dog from the window outside which had them spinning on little rotisseries--always a good sign. And we were right, the hot dog here ROCKS. Cooked to perfection since it's been spending its sweet time sizzling on the spit. Bun was also great, soft...

Cypress Grill is tucked inside Harding Park’s golf course, overlooking the serene Lake Merced. The views are stunning—majestic cypress trees and the calm shimmer of the lake make for a peaceful dining experience. Breakfast portions are generous, pricing is fair, and the staff? Exceptionally friendly and efficient. It’s rare to find a quiet spot like this where you can truly unwind while enjoying good food and great service. Afterward, I took a leisurely stroll along the nearby path, passing vibrant yellow night primrose, lush gardens, and spotting plenty of birds along the way. It was truly relaxing—magical, even. This place has quickly become one of my new favorite hidden gems.
