If you're on the quest for the best BBQ in San Jose, your search ends at Jon Jon's BarBQ! Nestled at 1305 Oakland Rd, this place is a hidden gem that will take your taste buds on a mouthwatering journey through the world of authentic smoked BBQ.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jon Jon's BarBQ, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience. I sampled the chicken, hot links, and ribs, and each dish was a testament to the artistry and dedication that goes into crafting top-notch barbecue.
First, let's talk about the chicken. It was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor that penetrated deep into the meat. The skin had that perfect crispy char that you only find at the finest BBQ joints. It was clear that they knew their way around a smoker, and the result was poultry perfection.
The hot links were a revelation. Spicy, succulent, and with just the right amount of heat, they were a true highlight of the meal. The snap of the casing as you bite into them was a testament to their quality, and the smokiness added an extra layer of complexity to their flavor.
And then, there were the ribs. Oh, the ribs! They were fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a luscious BBQ sauce that struck a perfect balance between sweet and tangy. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, and I couldn't get enough. It's no exaggeration to say that these were some of the best ribs I've ever had.
The authenticity of Jon Jon's BarBQ shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. The ambiance is casual and inviting, with friendly staff who are passionate about their craft. The walls are adorned with BBQ memorabilia, giving you a sense of the rich tradition that underlies this cuisine.
What sets Jon Jon's BarBQ apart is their commitment to using traditional smoking methods that have been passed down through generations. You can taste the time and effort that goes into every dish, and it's clear that they take pride in upholding the barbecue tradition.
In addition to the incredible food, the portions are generous, making it an excellent value for your money. Whether you're dining in or taking your order to-go, you'll leave Jon Jon's BarBQ with a full belly and a smile...
Read moreWe had heard of JonJon's quite awhile ago but never had a chance to visit until now. We had a very late lunch at around 2:15pm today. So consequently, they were out of the Peach Cobbler, the Mac & Cheese, and their Beans, however the Potato Salad was a solid tasting experience. In terms of the BBQ, we had the Chicken, it was good, the Hot Links, very hot & spicy, and the Ribs!!! The Ribs, came heavily drenched with their BBQ Sauce and were an Extraordinary & Excellent tasting experience. Our small group of 3 mutually agreed that coming back to taste the Ribs again should be a regular occurrence and well worth the effort. Note: They don't have any waiting staff and instead have a kiosk set up for auto-ordering using one's credit card / debit card. That was a pleasant surprise and very straight forward to use. Their Customer Service was excellent, in terms of having our order promptly served while still keeping up with a steady stream of Take Out Customers. In terms of ambiance, this is a very humble establishment set up with covered outdoor dining and our only comment here would be for them to set up some portable outdoor heating to help dining customers deal with the cold. As previously mentioned, we would highly recommend coming here to try their Ribs as we were very surprised with their taste and hencefore plan to come back sometime soon to have...
Read moreCame by around 12:15pm on a Thursday, and I was able to get in and place my order immediately. The smell of wood smoke filled my lungs once I stepped out my car, so I knew I was in for a good time!
I ordered the 2 meat lunch combo with ribs and Brisket, then got a thigh on the side as well.
Before diving in, I have to say that I typically don't like my BBQ sauced up. Im willing to make an exception here though because this food was off the chain.
To start, the chicken thigh had smoke flavor all through the bih. It was juicy, tender and seasoned so damn well.
The ribs were meaty and just as smoky as the chicken. They were fall-off-the-bone too(which for most BBQ purists means it's overcooked), but I thoroughly enjoyed them. The bone was the only survivor!
The brisket also did not disappoint! The fat was rendered, the meat was tender, and it wasn't overcooked or "pot-roasty".
Overall, I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends....
