Las Islitas Mariscos (Story Rd) — Restaurant in San Jose

So I tried this place because it didn’t have to many ratings. I wanted to try it for myself and give it a rating to help people.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The music was beautiful and the interior is well done. I felt comfortable and service was good.

The menu is really large which makes it a bit hard to know what to get. I came for lunch and the prices seemed high but it makes more sense as a dinner place. Would be nice if they had lunch specials. I was able to find some good prices they are just harder to find. I think the tacos are a great price for the value.

The flavors of the shrimp and fish tacos were really good. My favorite was the shrimp tacos. So much flavor packed in. The fish tacos weee good but I prefer a crispier fish. Still really good flavor. For me the star of the show was their chipotle sauce. Let me tell you, wow… it had so much flavor. I think one of the best chipotle sauces I have tried. It has a hint of a rich smoky flavor. I would buy just the sauce.

Overall I had a good experience but I would get the fish or shrimp tacos. Delicious!

The service is slow and the waitress came to pick up our plates before finishing our meal. We felt rushed. Also her attitude and facial expressions were uncalled for if she is having a bad day or can't deal with the public she shouldn't be there my opinion. I was in a party of 4 people and I told her I am paying for my own meal and she said I couldn't because it was on a weekend!! I asked her why and she couldn't give me a correct answer.
