MaMa House Sandwiches & Deli — Restaurant in San Jose

🤩Tried this brand new business out today!!! Got the #1 MaMa House Special Bánh mì and some freshly pressed (right in front of me) sugar cane drink. 😋The #1 was unlike any Bánh mì I've ever had, loaded with thickly sliced Vietnamese cold cuts, Pâté, crispy veggies, picked daikon radish, mayo....and the bread 😋So filling but oddly not heavy. I ate half for lunch and will enjoy the other half for dinner. They conveniently wrap the two halves separately! The sugar cane juice drink was pressed right in front of me while waited, it doesn't get any fresher than that!!! If you've never had sugar cane juice, it's slightly sweet and very refreshing. I highly recommend it! The staff working the counter were super helpful. The manager Calvin was kind enough to recommend and then help me customize my sandwich. I also was happy to here they had the fresh pressed sugar cane. I've only had it one other place, so good. If you are new to Vietnamese sandwiches, ask for some advice. You will not be disappointed! They do a lot more than sandwiches, I'll post photos of the selection they had to today. Going to need to make a few more visits to try some more...

Tried this spot, in my adventure to find some good food eats. I was wonderfully surprised by how delicious these banh mi’s were! Asked the cashier for recommendations and they did not hesitate, they told me exactly what they recommended and everything they picked was AMAZING! Excellent service! The sandwiches were fresh, well balanced in flavor, crispy and very generous with the portion size. Ordered a $7 and an $8 sandwich, so plenty affordable. If you don’t want a sandwich they have a selection of other foods you can eat. I decided to try their desserts and they were absolutely delicious. Paired the food order with a calamansi tea and I am obsessed. I will happily be coming back to try more of their delicious foods and taking pics. It was so good that I just could not stop eating, so I’ll remember to take pics next time. Heads up, there is no seating area so perfect as takeout food...

Every time I’ve gone here the staff has been super nice. It gets hectic and crazy (not the store’s fault, just typical bánh mì store vibes) I tried calling in to order ahead and the guy said he’ll call me back (because it was so busy), it took a while so I just went ahead and went it to order. He actually called me back after I already went in to order and was super apologetic and wanted to make it right. I have zero complaints because I understood they were busy. The fact that he called back was amazing — 5 star customer service. Sandwiches are always good and again, customer service is great. Just gotta have patience with the crowd that comes in....
