I first sampled Salt & Straw back in San Francisco, and absolutely enjoyed their ice cream offerings. When I discovered that they opened a south bay location, I was absolutely over the moon and couldn't wait to stop by.

Salt & Straw offers a great variety of flavors with some classic ones like their doublefold vanilla and honey lavender, as well as a rotating menu of monthly specials. What sets Salt & Straw apart from other ice cream shops is their unique flavors and the high-quality of their final products. I have yet to find a flavor that has not tingled my taste buds

I learned July was their berry month and decided to get their Besharam's Yogurt Lassi w/ Raspberries and Boysenberry Oatmilk Sherbet (yes I got two scoops, both were so amazing that I couldn't choose just one). Both ice creams were smooth in texture and packed with flavor. If I had to choose a favorite, then I'd definitely go with the Besharam's Yogurt Lassi as the tartness of the yogurt was paired perfectly with the sweetness of the raspberries mixed in. I can't help but find myself wishing that this wasn't a seasonal flavor, as it's instantly become a favorite of mine.

If you're a big fan of high-quality ice cream and fun flavors, then Salt & Straw is...

Went here twice in two days coz the ice cream was just AMAZING!

Pro tip: order a split scoop and try two flavors (instead of just the single scoop!)

The first order was a candycopia (a seasonal) + Cold Brew Coffee Cashew Praline

Both of these were just out of this world! The candycopia was just loaded with SO much stuff, I don't even know what to say. A lot of crunch and just really good. Kit Kats, Reeses, Snickers, Heath bars and some chocolate and PB and almonds and bourbon vanilla toffee and what not!? Coffee flavor wasn't too strong on the other (not a fan of the dark stuff here), and it had caramelized praline too; Both flavors went well together.

The second time we got the Jack o Lantern Pumpkin Bread(another seasonal one) which was a pumpkin spice ice cream with actual pumpkin bread chunks and whipped cream cheese frosting too! And a LOT of pumpkin bread. Wait a beautiful flavor! The other scoop was the sea salt with caramel swirls. I'm not usually a salted caramel ice cream person, but I actually really liked this one! The caramel was really rich and not too...

A really open space Salt and Straw in Valley Fair. The service has always been pretty friendly for me. The staff doesn't get irritated when you ask for multiple samples and always put in their two cents about the flavors they can't get enough of or find missing an extra oomph!

On the weekends, there is usually a line, especially at night but it moves fairly fast. They are an organized and efficient bunch. I like how they have seasonal flavors. I am terribly invested in the holiday flavors for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. My favorites have been a turkey ice cream with crispy organic rotisserie chicken skin and duck fat, as well as a sweet potato and cranberry ice cream with cornbread chunks. They do have all the funky flavors like bone marrow ice cream that I am always dying to try but every flavor doesn't taste hit all the notes it promises, like a fancy beer.

It is still one of my favorite salt & straw locations and they do sell pints if you are looking for...
