We recently held our Wedding Rehearsal/Welcome Dinner at Rosewood Social and had an absolutely wonderful experience!
STAFF: Patrick, the Owner/Manager, along with his attentive waitstaff and bartenders, provided exceptional service from start to finish. Patrick guided us through the entire process flawlessly, from our initial tour months in advance to curating the perfect menu and coordinating every detail on the night of our event. His professionalism and genuine hospitality made our evening truly memorable.
EXPERIENCE: Our event, hosting approximately 55 people, took place in their private dining area and spilled over onto the charming balcony, creating a delightful indoor/outdoor ambiance. Rosewood Social impressed us with its elegant and balanced design, unlike many other rustic restaurants we considered in San Juan Capistrano. The outdoor balcony, anchored by a bar and featuring a fireplace with cozy lounge seating, was beautifully designed and enhanced by the warm glow of string lights, creating a perfect summer evening atmosphere.
FOOD / DRINKS: The food was outstanding, especially with their pre-fixe menu. We started with savory Tenderloin Tips and a refreshing Southeast Salad, followed by a choice between Lemongrass Chicken and Jumbo Prawn Tandoori for the main course—both were delightful. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the entire spread, particularly the generously portioned and delicious cheesecake dessert.
LOCATION: Located conveniently in Downtown San Juan Capistrano with parking behind the building and easy access via stairs or elevator to the second-floor restaurant, Rosewood Social offers picturesque views of Mission San Juan Capistrano and the historic Downtown area from its outdoor balcony.
We couldn't have chosen a better venue for our special evening and highly recommend Rosewood Social for any event or dining experience. Thank you to Patrick and the entire team for exceeding our...
Read moreMy son and his fiancé chose Rosewood Social for their wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and welcome cocktail party after sampling their menu and crossing several other restaurants off the list in SJC.
In my opinion, they couldn't have chosen better. The food there is delicious. We really enjoyed the bang bang shrimp, the sea bass, coconut curry, and short rib for dinner. Our welcome party guests couldn't stop raving about the bang bang shrimp (they are so good we had to include them for our guests too) and the Adobo Pork Ribs. The spring rolls were also a big hit. The cocktails were creative and delicious.
The space the restaurant afforded us for the rehearsal and dinner was wonderful; and they reserved a bit of the patio leading to their bar for the welcome party for us.
The events manager was responsive and very flexible. She never let on that I drove her crazy with my questions (I had many). On top of that, any miscellaneous questions were quickly answered via chat on their website.
The Rosewood Social team made this event very memorable and enjoyable for all. It was not inexpensive and yes, perhaps the portions could be a bit larger.
But the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff are what make Rosewood Social a no brainer for our next event. Would not hesitate. Thank you Miranda and team for your excellent service. Thank you to the kitchen staff for making such...
Read moreWe had a huge bummer of an anniversary dinner last night—I’ve never been so let down by Google ratings. Definitely should have gone to La Vaquera. We arrived early expecting to have a drink at the bar but our table was ready for us. Unfortunately the room was extremely loud with terrible acoustics, so we asked to be moved out to the patio. The host was not gracious and seemed harried. Maybe moving threw off their service, because it was just abysmal. The waiter knew nothing about the cocktail ingredients and it took a half hour to get our drinks. He almost never checked on us and we had to flag him down to order. It was the kind of service I expect at Chili’s. The small plates came out and were unremarkable. In retrospect it was our mistake to order fried rice; theirs is not elevated over any takeout Chinese restaurant. The bang bang shrimp had no bang (was not at all spicy) and breading was soggy. The beet salad was fine. It was going so poorly that we didn’t bother to order an entree or second round of small plates. We did try the croissant waffle dessert and it was a soggy bowl of mush. It most certainly had been sitting around for a while before making it to our table. The only positive thing I have to say about the experience is that the patio is very pretty and the fireplace was a lovely view. I doubt we...
