Pollo Tropical — Restaurant in San Juan

The people working the night shift are extremely inefficient. They keep deleting the orders so corporate doesn’t see that they are delayed and keep asking the customer what did they order, even the managers are on this. The kitchen area looks nasty, and floors are extremely dirty with food. The cashier will take your cash and serve your food without using gloves or cleaning their hands. The guy that’s on the grill (I think he has a higher position there) does absolutely nothing, while the other employees are swamped. The line in the drive through is impossible at night, I think they make it extremely slow on purpose for you to leave. Honestly, it’s probably violating so many health codes it should be closed down. It’s sad because the food there is decent. Today I went there for a bongo bowl spent 10 minutes in line, there was nobody in front of me because the other guy that was there had already ordered, and when they finally took my order they told me I had to wait an extra eight minutes for them to cook the chicken; mind you at the same time this happened there where approximately seven cars in the drive through and the place has chicken on it’s name. Upon entering this establishment it reminds me of a mix between a fast food restaurant and a sit down restaurant. If you can understand what I mean. Service was good. Especially for being bilingual. The food presented itself promptly. I ordered a #5 with black beans and rice and a side of tostones. The skewers of chicken were tender, hot, with an enjoyable sweet bbq sauce. The vegies really set it off. The black beans were great. The perfect mix between the chicken and the white rice. Act a perfect side. The tostones were actually unneeded but were still enjoyable. Ten years ago it was enjoyable eating from here, now, not that much. My partner and I ordered "fricasé de pollo" and a complement of "mofongo". To begin with, the mofongo was really bad.👎Undercooked, dry like the desert and tasteless. Why offer something you don't have an idea how it is supposed to be done? Why?⁉️ The pollo was also a bit dry and the rice was very tasteless.
