UPDATE, REPLY: Excuse me it was not $39, it was $31.99 that was my mistake. I did call for pricing and even if I didn't call it was STLL not worth the price for the type of menu that was offered and for the quality that was served ESPECIALLY if you have been given an attitude. Its not so much about the total I paid because Ive spend that much money or even more at other places but I expect the food to be better quality and service to be much better. This is why there are reviews to share experiences and unfortunately this was my experience so maybe next time listen to your customers and try to fix the problem to make it better and not get so offended because if you see from other reviews a lot of other customers have said the same thing about the prices and quality, maybe I should have listened but I had to tryout for myself first and here we are. Hope you have a great day!
Its not worth they hype, $39.99 for adults and my 4 year old was $14.99. Sodas were $4.99! and they're slices of cakes are $6.99. We ended up paying $154 and got an attitude from the cashier just because we asked for the receipt to go over everything. The chicken nuggets were also very dry and hard that if I throw it at someone it might knock you out lol. The "ceviche" or "aguachile" that's in the molcajete is not fresh shrimp but tasted like the frozen rubbery shrimp you get packaged at Safeway. The carnitas were dry and the nopales with scrambled eggs tasted very sour like they came from the can and not the fresh ones. Never again! Also on the normal menu their tacos are $6.99, yes they are a bit bigger but not...
Read moreCan i give 0 stars ? My family and I just left there after having the Sunday Buffet. The food selection was mid (bad), no seasoning on any of the meat at all. The woman whose area we sat in was criminally inattentive to us. However the surrounding tables patrons got everything they needed without having to call her over. We had to ask for utensils and ask for drinks (and never got a refill). Our used plates were never cleared from the table either. We watched as other tables were tended to by other staff and even by our assigned waitress. This is a Mexican restaurant and there was a majority Mexican patrons, my family is Black and I really don't want to attribute that to the subpar service we received. I spent over $100 for my family of 4 which included a 4 year old. If the food and service was better it would have been worth it but it wasn't it was all bland and tasteless. Even the soft drinks were watered down. After I read all the hyped up reviews of this place on Instagram I had high hopes. We originally were planning on bringing our friends along with us but I'm sooooooo glad we didn't. That would have been epically embarrassing to be treated less than in front of our friends. I'm not even going to pull the race card really I'm just going to say that we were not their target audience so we were not welcome there and they let us know it by their lack of...
Read moreI have been here multiple occasions and it is very inconsistent. Initially the food was very good with generous portions, but as time has gone on it has really declined.
Recently I went with my family and asked to sit outside, as it was fairly crowded in there and I am not trying to catch COVID. The staff continued to suggest that we sit inside throughout the meal so that they would not have to run the patio heater. We then realized that they are so severely understaffed that we were pretty much being ignored once we ordered. We even had to stand in line inside for 30+ minutes to pay the bill with other frustrated customers
Several of us had the El Portal combo, and the Chile rellenos were rock hard, enchiladas were made with old tortilla, and the sope had the texture of rubber. To add insult to injury they were stingy with the rice and beans and covered the plate in wilted lettuce.
Will not be coming back here under any...
