This place has a ton of potential, lots of cool flavors and something unique. But the owner/employee is insanely confrontational and borderline scary.
We were so hyped for this place and the awesome flavors and wanted to like it so much, but the crazy encounter with the owner will make us never come here again.
Due to their many unique flavors that aren’t at any other ice cream shop, naturally you’d want to try a few flavors to get the full experience. After trying two samples between 3 people , the person working there made a comment, in a forward and mean tone, if we were going to get any ice cream or if we were going to just keep trying. We were put off by that but decided to stick through it and assured him we were going to commit to purchasing ice cream. We decided to try one more flavor, the coconut, after already internally deciding on the flavor but wanted a taste to seal the deal. Instead, he told us that we could no longer try any more flavors and to compare the experience to going to a restaurant. Stating that you don’t try the food prior to ordering. Then proceeded to grill us on examples of other ice cream shops that allow samples. After stating every ice cream shop and common business practice to allow tastings, he continued to be rude and suggest that we could try the flavor by purchasing it. You would think a shop with different flavors would adopt such a policy to allow people who are not used to those flavors to try them, or at least put up a sign saying the policy. We asked him about that, and he said “me telling you is the policy.”
I wanted to walk away after the second confrontation but didn’t want to ruin the night and decided to get the ice cream anyway. I was with my boyfriend and mom.
We will never come back again. We were so disappointed as we wanted to support a local...

So amazingly gratifying to find a new local business that is run by locals that is something different AND is great to boot.
Have taken my kiddos twice now and have had a variety of great flavors. It’s clearly not mass made Dryers or whatever: super authentic Latin American and Mexican flavored ice creams. But - don’t worry, dear Caucasian reader - they also have tons of more run of the mill American type flavors so nobody gets left out.
Of the now five flavors that I have tried, none have been duds - but the winner by a mile was the Leche Quemada - “burnt milk” was not one that this guero had ever tried but mannnnnnn I’m going to have a hard time getting anything different next time.
Lots of kid friendly flavors - and great toppings for them to boot.
Go check this place out - you...
Read moreThis Mexican-style heladería stands out with its array of distinctive ice cream flavors and an impressive collection of candies not commonly available in the US. My main reservation was the strict 'no sample' policy. While I understand the concern about misuse, offering a limited number of samples, perhaps three per customer, would greatly enhance the experience by allowing patrons to confidently explore the...
