I thought the fountain and interior decor was cute but the service was not (at all) what it should have been. The waiter took forever to bring our food out and didn’t check on us while we waited, on top of that he got our order wrong. It was disappointing as we were starving and drove in from Wimberly to eat, the waiter didn't even apologize and a different guy took over who was more apt to handling the situation and making it right. That guy did a good job and we were grateful he stepped in. We even heard a lady who sat nearby say they take too long and she was walking out with her elderly companion. My kids got horchata and it tasted like water, I even took a sip and it was soo watered down there was no way I was going to pay for huge glasses of watery flavorless horchata so we asked for lemonade instead. The food was just okay the flavor wasn't there, my charro beans had way too many jalapeños and it was too spicy, I had to fish out the beans and was left with a bowl full of jalapenos. The lengua my M.I.L. ordered was different and not prepared like she was expecting, said the texture of the meat was questionable and on top of that the flour tortillas didn't look homemade, they looked like store bought Mission tortillas. I will say the only plus was that they were soft. The refried beans needed more flavor and there was hardly any sauce on my daughter's enchiladas and appeared as though they just dumped cheese atop so it wasn't what she was hoping for even after they tried to correct it. My parillada was lacking flavor and I didnt like that the sausage was cut up in small bite size chunks. I have ordered this dish at many restaurants and other places put whole links. So they were a bit skimpy with the meats to be honest. We won't ever go back to this place the next time we're in San Marcos, we didn't have a good...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could based on my experience. I always try to support small businesses. Especially if they are female owned. However, I am not here to pay for bad service, disrespect and false advertisement. To be honest the “issue” could have been resolved. It wasn’t even an issue until they made it one. I ordered the Al Pastor plate. In the description it said it came with pineapple and guacamole. The waitress(Jackie) had been not so pleasant our entire time there for a party of 9. I didn’t think much of it and was trying to let it go even though she was making me feel that I was bothering her for ANYTHING I asked for. I asked Jackie(the waitress) if my plate came with pineapple and guacamole in which she responded I don’t know. I stared at her in confusion because at the very least as a waitress you know what’s on the menu or could have easily picked up a menu to check. She walked away and I thought she went to go ask and or get the pineapple and guacamole. Next thing I know Jackie(the manager. Wears glasses. Apparently Jackie the waitress’ sister) comes up on my left hand side and wedges her self between me and my friend and says “so you are complaining about your food” that was a statement folks not a question. I won’t go on it because it does not matter. I closed my check and left. Called the next day to speak the owner and Jackie(the manager with glasses ) informed me the owner is her mother therefore my complaint would be given in vein. AVOID THIS PLACE. Go to TOMA TACO, CASA Maria’s, MANAS, EL CHAPO. ANYWHERE...
Read moreMy wife and I choose have breakfast at this eatery this morning. The food was excellent there is nothing bad I can say about the food. Upon praying our bill i noticed that there was a 4% "NON CASH FEE" if I decided to use a credit card or debit card. Though my bill wasn't a high bill I didn't want to pay 4% just to give to the restaurant for using their credit card machine. It should be our privileged to use our credit card or debit cards anyway we would like. After explaining this to the server she decided not to charge me the 4% on my credit card/debit card. I was grateful. My point is how many other restaurants in San Marcos are charging this illegal fee? I am not trying to defame Jorge's I just want people to be aware when they read this review. Everywhere in San Marcos I see that there is a minimum charge or spend at the stores and merchants allow this. It is illegal in the state of Texas! I tried to post photos on a review, and who didn't charge "No Cash Fees" If somebody who had the time and the money to take this eatery to court they would have to pay back all the Non Cash Fes to everyone they have taken advantage of throughout the time they started doing this. The restaurants that don't charge a non-cash fee as follows: Chimmy's Black's BBQ Casa Maria Pluckers Wok and Roll Garcia's Thank you restaurants who don't charge a non-cash fee for credit card or...
