In all fairness, this review is about an experience that occurred in September when the weather was warmer. However, weather should never dictate the experience of an indoor eatery.
We were hungry so while shopping at Walmart, mom and I decided to try L&L Hawaiian BBQ. They served a rice dish with linguisa in it that the Portuguese in us latched onto.
The food was okay. I can’t say it was bad, but I cannot say it was good either. It was mediocre and now I’ll walk right past it when I visit Walmart in the future. You could say I had high expectations and was disappointed.
What made eating the food unsettling, were the gnats. There were gnats flying all over the place. When I went to grab some napkins at the counter I was bombarded by these flying pests. My gosh people! Change the garbage cans, maybe wash them down too. The gnats wanted that sticky sweet sauce and they were all over the BBQ sauce dispenser making that not so much an option anymore. If I were on Survivor it would be expected, but not at an establishment where I was charged my hard earned money for the food I received. It was a bad experience and it really is true, first impressions are everything and we were NOT impressed. Never again. I can only imagine the kitchen area was equally, if not more infested by the gnats. Get it...

We were in Wal-Mart on the evening of 12/22/2021 and decided to stop on the way out to grab some dinner to take home. It was about 8:10 pm when we made the order and it was for 1 Loco Moco plate and the 3 meat Protein Plate over cabbage. Each order came with egg and I asked for scrambled on the Protein plate.
It took about 15 minutes to receive the food, two guys were working and it seemed a bit slow for the amount of people there. We got home and opened our food and it looked decent. I sampled a piece of the egg on my way to go sit down and my egg was crunchy! I spit it out and was crunching on eggshell. I spit it out and rinsed it under water to make sure that is what it was. Sure enough. I looked around my plate for any other clues to more eggshell and it looked fine. I had a few bites left and yet again. Really?
The Loco Moco was enjoyed until about 1/2 way through that plate there was eggshell in it also and that was a sunny side up fried egg.
In the restaurant industry you can't serve this to people and hope to survive. The facility was less than clean but the guy at the register was friendly. A little training for the guy in the back will...
Read moreThe cook allowed me to order after six days straight of eating there with no issues then told me I was not allowed to eat there after I paid. Since I'm disabled with a service dog he said " if we were less busy your disabity would be allowed" and left me crying with my dog eating in the rain. If they had told me right away after six days of eating there that this day I wouldn't be allowed to eat inside I would have gone to McDonald's or something and saved myself the embarrassment and shame.Id like to thank them for making me cry and feel worthless for trying to enjoy their food. Having a disability is hard enough but to be taken advantage of on top of it cripples you even more I hope that extra table they wouldn't let me sit at pays...
