I'd previously given this restaurant 3 stars for inattentive service and pricing, but I am reevaluating since so much has changed during the pandemic (and I'd be sad to see this place go!). This place has adapted well to takeout orders. I wouldn't be excited for a delivery order, and prefer to enjoy sushi in the parking lot when air quality is nice. Lunch options come with miso soup and salad. I appreciate that sushi comes in clear plastic while rice dishes are packaged in microwave-safe containers. Food is excellent. Very impressed with the quality of takeout sushi here for the most part. Fish-to-rice ratio is perfect for nigiri! I do think a quarter of the venting miso soup would spill in the plastic bag if you ordered for delivery though. So if you can, skip the delivery and enjoy a pick-up meal. It's a bit on the pricey side but correlates with quality.

Pros: top 3 sushi places in Marin, quality food, good lunch selection, thoughtful packaging Cons: wait can be long during peak hours,...

Sakura Sushi is a little bit out of the way, not close enough to downtown San Rafael, too far from Novato, and next to a tired cinema. But it is a delightful little place tucked away in Smith Ranch.

On both occasions, the Sushi was excellent. On our second trip out, we thought our first experience could be a win over low expectations, so we were prepared to be disappointed. But the preparation and presentation was great, the Sushi was fresh, and service was friendly.

The ambience is low-key. It is a small, neighborhood restaurant, so don't go expecting to be blown away by the experience. But with Sushi, it comes down to the food. The freshness of the fish, the skill of the chefs, and the visual delight of the presentation. You won't be disappointed on...

I have no words to explain the disappointment on Mother’s Day/Quarantine I have encountered. We wanted to support our local restaurants and figured I’ve been here once and waited an hour, but it was delicious. This time we ordered online and my boyfriend actually waited 2 HOURS! I kid you not, Small restaurants are struggling but to charge people $70 with tip and not call us to let us know anything about our order, is wrong. This is the first time I have ever had terrible customer service experience at a restaurant. I mean it has to take a lot.

Btw, this is the third time I changed my review. I don’t write them unless you really made a horrible business choice. Who owns this place??

One star for the dragon rolls and...

The poor service and mediocre sushi quality were disappointing when ordering takeout. Order took 90 minutes despite the restaurant telling me it would take 20 minutes. They asked me to return 30 minutes after first arriving, then when I returned, made me (and many others) continue waiting for longer than I'd ever choose to wait for takeout if told the truth up front. Then, when handing me my order, they argued that I was being unreasonable when I requested a bit more than the 1 tbsp. of the faux wasabi they first provided. I added an extra star because we're in a pandemic. Hopefully this place is just going through a rough time.
