Smith Ranch Deli and Cafe — Restaurant in San Rafael

Smith Ranch Deli & Cafe is a gem! I was in Marin on business and needed an easy, fast lunch and don't eat fast food. The menu was much more extensive than expected with sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, pastas, salad and so much more. I order a vegetarian sandwich with everything substituting hummus for the cheese. It was excellent. The avocado was perfectly ripe, all of veggies were fresh, clean and well balanced proportionally. The service was friendly, efficient, and deli was very clean. It was also easy on and off the freeway. This is definitely a Do Over! Highly recommend Smith Ranch...

After spending the night at the Gold Hill Ranch up on Plumbcrack Ridge with not one but two deprivation permits, old man Gummerwick and I were beat! We headed back into civilization with our chores completed, and stopped at the Smith Ranch Deli because Gummer liked the sound of its name. I told the person there about the Pastrami sando I had the day before in San Anselmo, and how good it was. Well, they said they could top it, hot or cold, so I decided to go with cold this time, and it was Spectacular! 5 stars all day...

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. Be sure to ask how fresh the meat and other ingredients of the food your getting from the deli section are. This is the third time I get food poisoning from this place. They serve bad meat so they don’t have to throw it out. Their food is good but they don’t care about your health.
