We enjoy trying new places, and we prefer to support local businesses whenever possible, so I thought it would be fun to have the surf-n-turf here for my birthday (the big 5-0, as it so happens). I'd seen the photos on their facebook page, which looked very appetizing, and the reviews were positive. Thought it a little odd that Google showed them only being open until 7 PM, so checked their facebook page and confirmed that it, too, showed 7 PM. Ok, so we'll eat an early dinner. No big deal.
We didn't want to be "that customer" who shows up right before closing and inconveniences the staff, so we left our house at 5 (we live an hour away) to get there by 6. Rolled up at 6, only to find that we were, in fact, inconveniencing them with our mere presence - they refused to serve us. Evidently, they don't serve dinner, despite being open until 7 PM. They serve lunch, after which it's takeout only. Disappointing. And disappointing that they can't figure out how to communicate their odd business practices to potential customers, online.
We went to Pecan House, and it was fine, like it always is, but I'm still disappointed that our first choice refused us service. I never root for small local businesses to fail, but if this place doesn't figure out how to better communicate their peculiar business model to prospective customers, I suspect they'll eventually...
Read moreReply to (Flatstick?). You gave a review of 1 star to a small town restaurant because they were not open for dine in?? They have not had dine in after 2pm for probably about a year. The owners are young hard working parents. Did you not stop to think that rooting for them to fail is also rooting for their family to suffer. How self entitled are you to feel you have to bash such a nice place because you didn’t do your due diligence first. Shame on you guy! They have the best food and service in the entire tri-county area! I have never tried anything there that I didn’t like. You are a 50year old throwing a tantrum like a kid! Then you try and promote another business in town through your complaint on their business?? Seriously?! Who ever controls these reviews should really take yours down! Napoli’s is an awesome addition to this town! Shame on you! I hope you see this and call them and apologize for being a self entitled cry baby! You didn’t even go inside much less eat their food to leave a review! Shame on you! You’re what’s wrong with society these...
Read moreI was here on the opening day in January of 2019, and found the food to be excellent. I've returned and ordered from the restaurant probably once per month since then. So I've had several opportunities to try the food and see what the atmosphere is like. The food has been consistently good, I'd say the salad is a little anemic (the little one that comes with your meal) but the garlic knots are excellent! I have seen the Armenian guy outside smoking, but I've never smelled a smoke odor inside. It's also been very clean. I wouldn't have returned if I had found it to be dirty. I was happy to have Napoli's come to our little neck of the woods, and I still am. Hopefully they've resolved any issues that previous customers mentioned! Because I've just never experienced them. I work at one of the wineries, and I always refer customers to Napoli's for great food. Hope it stays in business because it isn't on the main road that goes through San Saba. Put a sign on Wallace Street (Hwy 190) or...
