So I really wanted to like this place. Me and my bf decided to come here for cinco de Mayo because the reviews looked really good. I knew it wasn’t going to be authentic but the experience we got was far from expected. We pull up and the place is blasting like party music like the cha cha slide, Pony, etc. people were outside dancing so that was such a vibe but like…it’s CINCO DE MAYO. Play some Latin music please. Okay whatever. We wait 30 mins for a table which was fine. We had to specifically ask for a table away from the blasting music.

When we got to the table there was a small menu on the table we assumed were special. No it was the menu for the day. So all the delicious options I was looking forward to on the menu were not available to us just 9 to 10 options for food. And basic lime margaritas. Couldn’t even get a different flavor margarita. I feel this was very shady and no one told us upfront that they had a very limited menu that day. I was SO disappointed. Anyways we decided to order since we waited so long and knew other places would be packed too.

We order the fajita nachos, queso dip, and frozen lime margaritas. None of the stuff on the limited menu is what I would normally order but we gave it a try. The fajita nachos were bland. It was cooked well but very little seasoning or flavor. All we tasted was beans and cheese. The queso dip was okay. It was hot and a good consistency but I’ve definitely had better. The only part of our night that was great was that the food came out fast and the margaritas were strong. But the margs were only good, not great in taste. The service was good. Everyone was nice and worked fast. Maybe it’s just cause we went on a very busy “holiday” for Mexican restaurants but I was hoping they (corporate/owners) would have prepared for this day instead of limiting the menu and not telling us as soon as we asked for a table. I’m not sure if I will come back because of this reason. We gave it 3 stars for the good staff and that the food came fast and the strong drinks but overall the taste of anything was subpar. Came here to watch the Super Bowl. Nice and clean environment, formerly the Tijuana Joe’s location. Had quite a few dishes and drinks and can attest that their house and Texas margaritas are premade and from their tap (exception of the skinny margarita that is mixed by bartender). These margaritas were very very sweet. So much so that we switched to the Skinny margaritas later. Far better and not as overly sweet.

From a food perspective we had the churrasco first. We ordered it medium. The meat quality was subpar and had a lot of fat and hard parts to it. It was literally like chewing gum. Granted at $24 I didn’t have high expectations yet honestly have had better steaks at other Mexican spots that were easier to cut through and eat. Easily one of the worsts steaks I’ve had in Atlanta.

By the second half of the game we decided to order their steak fajitas. This dish was also average at best as it came in a sizzling skillet with mostly just sautéed veggies and very little steak. Skillet was so hot no matter what temp you asked for on the steak it would end up over done or extremely well done.

The fact that this lady had the nerve to complain about a tip after me complaining multiple times about how the food tasted and she made no efforts to correct it m. She did not give outstanding service she took our order and brought the food out then sat down. Then lie about how much was tipped I know for a fact it was more than 1$ but if it was so what. I worked as a server so I know what it is like but that does not give you the right to try and question anybody about anything I didn’t know this business was ran that way say she work for money hell we all do and the service that you have was fitting of the tip that was left cause it could have been nothing but I wouldn’t do that also would never just tip one dollar because I know what that’s like hell I had some one leave me a penny once but I didn’t accost them about it.
