2/13/18 Update: So a week after my first call to Fulton County turns out they did NOT receive my paperwork and it was NOT being processed. The woman I spoke with this time (Kim) stated she was not able to locate the paperwork from the dealership and that the previous rep who answered me the previous week must have been trying to get me off the phone. Well after calling my dealership back, turns out they hadn't finished their part and the paperwork had not left their office yet. So the fault lies with that office.
But I'm reducing my review to 2 stars for the first rep who mislead me with false information, and the second rep for poor customer service. Don't expect polite, friendly customer service. The first rep was patient and sounded like she knew what she was doing and the second rep was impatient and quick with me. It really is a hit or miss with these people. I called their office just now and was promptly answered by someone who was able to answer my question (saving me a trip to the tag office). The first time I called, it went straight to dial tone but the second time I was able to get through the menu and talk to the motor vehicle department. For anyone in the same boat as me, if you've just purchased a vehicle from a dealership and they sent your paperwork on your behalf to the tag office, you just need to provide your GA driver's license number, car make and model, and your first name. She was able to tell me the status of my car registration (still in progress). I'll update later if I have any problems getting my tag...
   Read moreI just went here with basic questions about a license plate for a new car. Waited nearly an hour. Finally spoke with someone and they were completely rude and disrespectful. VERY visibly annoyed with my questions for clarification. Told me they couldn't do anything and did not provide solutions. The lady even had the nerve to say that the place was closed now, when I had literally just waited an hour to speak with someone. At one point the lady just walked away and didn't even say anything. After being very firm with my questions, I managed to get the lady to give me some forms to fill out. All this in under 5 minutes worth of talking. It was perhaps the most unpleasant 5 minutes of my life. Any positive reviews are fake. This place is horrible and had an armed guard. The website requested a pile of printed information, like my complete insurance policy, which otherwise would have only resided online. I imagine I spent about 25 hours gathering information, since one of my cars is leased and required a POA from the Lessor, which required many calls, recalls, and emails. There are still gaping disconnects between information systems from state to state, and none of this seemed to be routine. But, I was prepared. I was called to a window the moment the greeter handed me my number. I was served by a new employee and those training her, and everyone was very pleasant and earnest about getting the job done.
