Del Taco — Restaurant in Sandy

The food was cold and they forgot a burrito I ordered and paid for... but I had to return to work since my lunch break was only 30 min and could not head back to complain to restaurant. After i was off at 6pm, I returned and explained to the supervisor I had to give up my Burrito to co-worker since I felt bad, that i didn't check my food was all in the bag. I ordered food for 4 people. So I went hungry and wanted a replacement burrito. But because it was the steak one she declined and said to return to the next day and talk to daytime manager who was there for lunch. I mean what kind of garbage is that!? I am a business professional in a suit and have a PhD in my field but I am somehow to return and debate these people? I even tried to call upon discovering the restaurant mistake. I called 3x and everytime the call was not answered and after like 8 rings it goes to a fax beep and could not leave a message. Needless to say I have not returned and will never return, but full disclosure I only eat there in rare times when I'm feeling somewhat constipated or am needing a good cleanse.

I mean let's be honest a 99 cent taco is a better value than buying a laxative at local pharmacy. As for the quality of the food? Well it's exactly getting what you pay for... frozen heat and serve style and super cheap prices that simply equal the quality of the food at Del Taco... supper cheap.

But my Exec Asst and office support staff seem to enjoy it, at what I believe to be because of the value = stomach fill ratio. You can fill the hunger for a couple of dollars if that is what you're looking for. But these people were really insulting at forgetting my steak burrito and then their disbelief and demanding I go out of my way for third time because of their screw up and phone inoperable. Thank you, but no, thank you.

If I need a good cleanse in the future I have alternatives... i.e. Taco Bell...

It's 2am on a Friday night and we had just missed McDonald's and Taco Bell's Drive-Thru (trust me we tried). My girlfriend was stoning me about getting a late night fix. If I'm being honest I was hungry too but it's easier to just put the blame all on her. We find this Del Taco in Sandy as our only salvation. We follow this tired maroon Hyundai Elantra up to the glowing menu. They're advertising these $2 mini shakes which sound pretty dope at first glance. We order one of those and 2 "epic loaded queso burrito[s]." They tell us the shake machine is currently being cleaned. Skeptically I asked if it's normal to clean the shake machine at such a strange time. "Yes we always clean it at 2am." I found that hard to believe but it's worth noting I wasn't feeling particularly confrontational. After all, I had been wearing my girlfriend's patience thin this past month, and an altercation at a Del Taco Drive-Thru could've been the final straw. Could these $7 burritos be our saving grace? Maybe. But it's about what you'd expect from your only offering in the thick of a Salt Lake City night. I think we'll need more help righting...

Worst fast food experience ever! I pull up to the drive through 2 cars ahead of me I get up to order and the lady's says she'll be right with me at least 15 mins later still quiet so I start yelling hello into the speaker and a couple minutes later a different lady asks what I want so I ordered 2 burritos and a root beer float pull up to the window and theres no one ahead or in the parking lot anymore and the lady isn't doing anything she takes my money and gives me my change and then closes the window opens it back up to tell me she forgot they dont have root beer tell me what they do have so I told her I was fine with coke so she gives me cherry coke I absolutely hate cherry it makes me gag and I associate it with cough medicine, but she handed me everything and closes the window before I can say anything so I leave and get home to throw away the float and find a hair in my burrito so I have to throw that away to. I'm a restaurant manager I know good service when I see it or even acceptable service and that was just unacceptable and the absolute worst...
