Food is generally really good and consistent, but today sent my mom to pick up a order since we live in Fresno. Tried calling twice after 10:30 and got no answer. That’s when my mom had walked up to make sure the order was placed and the lady working in the front was rude and said “Well I’ve been here no one has called” so my mom called me back said they were open and she said no one called. I called back and still no answer so I called my mom and told her they were not answering. My mom went back at told the lady I was calling to try and make an order and the lady responded “Yea we just opened up” (Mind you it’s 10:45 now) “So my mom asked well do you open at 10:30 or 11:00 cause he’s been trying to call and she rudely replied “Well were open now so you can order now”. She was very short and rude to my mother right from the beginning just because we wanted to call in the order since it was a big order for the family and she didn’t know what everyone wanted.
Very disappointing cause we like to eat there but will not tolerate disrespect from a young lady to my mother for no reason other then seemingly the lady was late to work and frustrated at herself. Not our fault and didn’t deserve the rude behavior.
We ended up ordering Chuck Wagon and had a much smoother ordering process, will not be returning here for sometime until hopefully the young lady can have more respect for...
Read moreI have recently heard about Big Mamas from a local Sangerian and decided to take the family out to try it.
Big Mamas is easy to find and parking is plentiful. Big Mamas looked like a house that was converted into a makeshift fast food joint. You order your food through the window and you eat your food outside. There is no dining inside or restrooms.
During our visit, we noticed a homeless man sleeping to the right side of the ordering window. This made ordering food a bit awkward. The wait was a bit long, but this was expected with a mom and pop shop. The prices on the food was really inexpensive. So cheap that I wanted to try everything on the menu, but I opted for a texas burger and my wife had a regular burger. My kids had the chicken nuggets with fries.
I really wanted to like this place because it seemed like this food joint and Chuck Wagons are the hidden jewels of Sanger, but honestly, I felt a little disappointed. The Chicken Nuggets and Fries were great. But our burgers were a little soggy. I would give it a low score for presentation. However, the burgers did taste pretty good and I would definitely come back to give this place another try. I wouldn't say this beats In and Out or Red Robbins, but it is definitely a better option than McDs...
Read moreBig Mamas, been around for a while its just a burger joint with mostly take out. It does however have outdoor seating under a metal carport type thing. It is located in an old house that has been there for years, which is different and appealing in a weird kind of way. The food is good, i have had a variety of thier burgers and shakes, even tried thier pastrami sandwich. The burgers have that old school back in the day flavor to them. Pastrami is just okay, i say this because i have had some really good ones in may day. Shakes are also okay cold and tasty but not that i would say super. So on the service side they have always been, lets say professional. Not really outwardly friendly. There is a rare smile now and again. Its more like just get you in and out as quick as possible. Which is okay if that's what you like. Me, i like friendly smiles a little laughter, and how is your day chatty. So all in all, i can honestly only give them, 👍👍👍. As i believe they could improve a few things. I would recommend them for a quick burger at lunch...
