Carnitas Uruapan — Restaurant in Santa Ana

this place was recommended to me for the meat. the menu on the wall, 1st panel, lists several meats & also reads "combo plate $7.95", with a photo. actually the words, price, & photo appear there twice. in both pictures, the plate is shown as 1/2 a combination of meats, 1/4 rice, & 1/4 beans.

i asked to order that combo plate. they didn't know what it was. they had to get someone else. the second person told me that it's a plate of only rice & beans. i pointed out to them the menu photos distinctly showing rice, beans, & meats. in both photos, the plate is mostly meats. the different types of meat are clearly visible stacked on the plate, distinct from the separate portions of rice & beans there. they still insisted that it would be a plate of rice & beans only.

how are the employees here unfamiliar with their own items? why no meat? why $8 for a plate of only rice & beans? why the deceptive menu? who can do any business in this manner?

this nook is crammed up to filthy-style auto repair yards, & stinks...

After watching tons of Mexican food videos in YouTube. I was craving a taco de cueritos y buche. So I remember my father used to bring us to this place when I was younger and the tacos were/are very tasty. I came on a Wednesday around 2 PM and hardly no one was there. I ordered 2 tacos, buche con cueritos and another with cueritos con masiza. They were huge and just like I remembered them, yummy and soft. They have 3 kind of salsas on 3 huge trays. The only thing is that they give you lemon wedges instead of lime wedges. Other than that, I was glad I came here to satisfy my cravings. Also the taquero and the cashier were pleasant to talk to. First time here and the carnitas are super salty! To the point that I can’t eat them. I wonder if that’s how they always are or if it was my luck. The meat was also very dry and full of bones. I paid $50 and feel so disappointed!!!! Also the workers were demanding everyone leave a tip. I always leave tips but thought it was weird for them to be asking costumers. One of the workers even asked if instead of a tip we could purchase beer for them. Never buying from this place again…..The onion is also given in huge chunks and not cut small like at other taquerias/restaurants. Me voy muy...
