Haven't had a chance of try out their fancier associated business in the area but at least I got to come here for now. Solid new Viet Coffee spot to throw into your drink rotation when in the OC.
I was torn between getting just the Viet Coffee or the Salted Coffee but I went ahead with the Salted Coffee since this variation of the drink is what I've been enjoying at other drink places that also offer it.
I'll have to say that I enjoyed a little more when I first drank it but towards the middle and at the end that dropped a little. This is not to say it was bad though, it's just that I have Viet Coffee all the time and "everywhere" so I'm pretty particular and of course have things I like and/or don't.
The strength and flavor of the coffee was really good here so that's a strong start. When the salted cream flavor hit me, I at first thought it was too much salt flavor, but it gets balanced out pretty well with the appropriately sweetened coffee. As I drank more though, I did come to think they put too much of the salted foam at the top (for me) which changes the drink in 2 two ways. It of course gives it a salty flavor and it also make it more viscous. The thicker texture it developed with the salted cream mixed in was not bad but it's just I think I'll go with the regular Viet Coffee next time since I am a fan of their coffee. I suppose I could also just ask for less cream. They used crushed ice which is always a win.
It's a nice, clean, modern interior with a good amount of seats given the size. I think I'll get the drip coffee next time and sit and enjoy it. It was busy, but not that bad inside and the service was perfectly fine.
They are located right on the corner of Euclid and 5th with their own parking lot that is shared by adjacent businesses (ice cream, restaurant). I could imagine no parking being available if the other businesses are busy as well. But it looks like residential street parking should be easy enough.
If you are a (Viet) coffee fan you should make your way...
Read moreI recently visited Trung Nguyen E-Coffee Santa Ana, a new coffee chain that has just opened near my relatives. I was curious to see what they had to offer, since it was still fresh and not crowded. It was only a week or so after their grand opening. The place is nice, with a modern and cozy design. It seems like a new coffee place for students and business casual people to meet and work. Of course, there are many coffee shops around here as well, so they have some fierce competition for sure.
I had too many coffee that day, so I decided to try something different. I ordered a hibiscus tea, which was one of their specialty drinks. It was pretty good, with a refreshing and fruity flavor. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too sweet for my taste. I think they added too much sugar or syrup. Maybe next time I'll ask for less sweet or no sweet at all.
The service was friendly and attentive. They greeted me with a smile and took my order quickly.
Overall, I had a pretty good experience at Trung Nguyen E-Coffee Santa Ana. The place is nice, the drinks are good, and the service is fast. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new coffee place to try out. I think they have potential to become a popular spot, if they can improve their sweetness level and offer more variety of flavors and...
Read moreI am not from the area but am always game to find good coffee locations in the city. I will DEFINITELY be coming back to this coffee place next time I am in Santa Ana. I got the Pistachio Iced Espresso that had the most amazingly delicious cold foam I have ever tasted. Probably the best iced coffee I have ever had. It was so beyond creamy and the texture/taste was just so good. I live in Laguna Hills and I am telling you, make a location here or in south Irvine. It would be a hit. A major hit for my wallet too haha!
I also got the iced matcha with cold foam but in the picture, it looked like coconut milk but mine was with coconut water? Probably would be super good with coconut milk as the matcha was good itself but the coconut water kind of killed it for us but that's okay. Not our style of drink. Took a bit of a wait for our almond croissant. Our order was to go and that held us up for a bit but again, the coffee was totally worth it. Can't wait to make it up there again just for that haha!
The inside was very lovely and peaceful. A very lovely coffee location with amazing drinks. You can taste the...
