I have been coming to this place a few times now, after a friend introduced me to it a few months ago. I live in Goleta but the food is worth the trip. Service is friendly. Prices are on the higher side but the quality of food is superb. So after raving about this place I finally convinced my wife and our friend visiting from out of town to join me. I suggest getting here no later than 11 am on the weekends as the line grows significantly. Now the downside. We had a server that was not wearing a mask. She was nice and friendly however being someone who handles food, wearing a mask is expected in the present day.

My wife had to use the restroom and took note of her in the kitchen as well without a mask. She was cleaning off tables engaging with customers and moving from table to table at times. All without sanitizing or wearing a mask.

The message received when a restaurant staff wears masks and or gloves when preparing food is that they are 100% customer oriented and care about the welfare of others. When they do not it suggests they are selfish and care more about their own comfort than the health of others.

So we will not be coming back soon. I told my wife this was the first time I had ever been served by a non mask wearing server. As a health care practitioner she was not impressed. "I do not care how good the food is. Its not worth the risk if you get sick."

I feel bad after praising this place to her about it. I might return but I will check to make sure the staff is taking extra steps to assure our safety...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Shop Kitchen in Santa Barbara, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! As one of the best breakfast restaurants in the area, I was excited to see what they had to offer, and I was not disappointed.

I ordered the Rollexx wrap, and it was absolutely delicious! The combination of fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, creamy avocado, and zesty chipotle mayo was the perfect way to start my day. The wrap was so generously portioned that I was satisfied for hours afterward.

But I wasn't the only one impressed - all of my friends also had various delicious items and we all agreed that everything was fantastic. Whether it was the buttermilk pancakes, breakfast burrito, or avocado toast, every dish was made with care and attention to detail.

What really sets The Shop Kitchen apart from other breakfast restaurants is their commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced, organic ingredients. It's clear that they take pride in the quality of their food, and it shows in every bite.

And the atmosphere of the restaurant is just as impressive as the food. The cozy yet stylish decor and friendly staff make for a welcoming and comfortable dining experience.

Overall, I highly recommend The Shop Kitchen for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast in Santa Barbara. The Rollexx wrap alone is worth a visit, but the entire menu is sure to please. I can't wait to come back and try more of their...

Ive been here multiple times and I’ve had great experiences with the employee with pink hair, this is the first time I have ever been treated badly at a restaurant. I’m a server at a high end fine dining restaurant in Montecito and I’m telling you right now, if I EVER treated a customer like how they treated us, I would lose my job on the spot. My table and I were cold so we requested a new table, the hostess said that table was about to be taken so we moved to a different one and let her know. She asked which one, we showed her, and she said she’d let the servers know. Fast forward, we get drinks, and later on, we start to get food, in the middle of our food arriving, the server starts berating us, saying we should have let the hostess know we moved (among other things) to which we kept telling her- we did! We let her know that we actually did let the server know and she KEPT going basically saying we were lying. So clearly there was miscommunication between her and the hostess. Despite all of this, she clearly found our table, so I don’t see why she felt the need to be so confrontational (its a small joint). The second server was also saying things under his breath, like, are we not paying customers? So very unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend coming here to be served by inexperienced angsty teens wanting to instigate a fight. This escalated for no reason and made a big deal out of us simply moving to...

When I got there I noticed that you had to order first nd pay before they take you to a table either inside or outside. I felt pressured to order quickly, I should have stand aside and let others order first. I didn’t enjoy the fact they have very limited dairy free options. Their signature dishes looked so good but for my case not aplicable (contained dairy). The customer service at the order and sitting needs work, a more professional approach instead of an indifferent one. I gave it a four star because the employees in the kitchen were very nice, attentive and friendly and because their water service is a do it yourself and didn’t seemed the most hygienic when refilling it. It is still a great idea, I see how is beneficial for the restaurant. But for my personal experience I prefer the full service. The food was good, I gave it a four star because I some dishes had sides with a bland flavor. The environment was very nice, I enjoy an outdoor restaurant surrounded by plants. Overall, I wouldn’t go back only because of the limited dairy free dishes. But I do recommend to those that don’t have those restrictions to try it out.

Eating at the Shop serves as a potent reminder of how much the pandemic has transformed our food culture to everything comfort food. Don't get me wrong. The Shop uses quality ingredients and obviously puts a lot of care into their cuisine. But for the remaining few of us who like to eat healthy, it's a challenge these days. Take the Frenchie. Is it really necessary to use BOTH powdered sugar and maple syrup, and so much of it that the bread is nearly submerged. (Sorry, the micro-portion of micro-greens is just a tease.) Sauces are great but again there should be a limit. As for the "fried chicken", there's way more batter than chicken! Everything these days has to be so over the top and The Shop is no exception. The two "lunch specials" contain enough cheese and fat to put one in cardiac arrest. I realize I'm in the minority but I long for the days when restaurants had a different approach.
