Kappa Santa Clara offers a thoughtfully curated menu of authentic Kerala cuisine, paired with a warm ambience and spacious seating. For those of us missing the flavors of home, dining here was truly nostalgic—it brought back so many memories of growing up in Kerala. We ordered Kappa, Fish Curry, Erachi Puttu, Chicken Mandhi, Thattu Kada Chicken Fry, Beef Fry, Porotta, Pazhampori & Kulikki Sarbath. The food arrived quickly, the service was excellent, and the authenticity was unmatched. This is by far the best Kerala food we’ve experienced in the Bay Area. Wishing the entire Team Kappa continued success—we’ll definitely be back!

We walked into the restaurant and loved the ambience. Really loved it. The folks have put on a lot of effort to create such a creative space. If you love Malayalam movies, you will really appreciate the interiors. The staff was nice and the orders mostly came on time and in right order. They were very patient with us as we were a big group ( 7 people) And then came the food ! It’s really bad. I can go in detail. But seeing the owners response, I do not want to. They are not good at taking feedback in improving rather interested in being defensive and argumentative. TLDR: highly recommend for the vibe, not for the food.

Kappa is the most vibrant and aromatic Kerala cuisine situated in the heart of California .Our meal started with Crispy and tender Pazham pori .The aroma of coconut oil and roasted spices along with the Malayalam songs in the background and Mollywood ambience is Deeply satisfying. We then tasted a spice parade of Meen Pollichadhu , Rice and Sardine fish curry which was tangy and Perfect .This was our second visit and every bite was soulful and authentic . Finally had some Banana and Old Vanilla flavors of my favorite Marianne s icecream which was again a blast . Keep going Kappa . We shall come again soon .

Kappa Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were transported to Kerala. This is, without a doubt, the most authentic and delicious Kerala food we have had in the entire Bay Area.

Every dish was prepared with such care and tasted incredibly fresh, bursting with the traditional flavors of coconut, curry leaves, and perfectly blended spices. We felt like we were eating a home-cooked meal in Kerala. It's clear the chefs are passionate about preserving the authenticity of their cuisine. We highly recommend the Kappa and fish curry. It's a culinary journey you won't forget.

What made our experience even better was the impeccable service. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. They were knowledgeable about the menu and their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. You can tell they take great pride in providing a wonderful dining experience for their guests.

Finally, the ambiance is simply unmatched. The restaurant has a beautiful and inviting atmosphere that is both elegant and comfortable. It was the perfect setting for our meal, and it really enhanced the overall experience. It's a wonderful place for a special occasion or a...

I did a take out today for the order as per picture. This is one of the worst Kerala foods I've had in the bay area. I was so hopeful seeing their insta ads and reels and felt the food would be tasty and authentic but it's all a lie.

Coming to the individual items : Meen polichadhu was utterly dry and the masala was bitter. I expected a whole fish but it was just a single piece which was stiff as a rock and tasteless.

Chemba Puttu - Very dry and so less in quantity

Kerala Parotta - Pl stop calling yourself a Kerala restaurant if you are serving such bad parottas. Even the frozen Costco parottas are better than this. The Parotta was stale and small and stiff. No taste or flavor.

Mutton stew - The stew had only two pieces and rest was bones. It was given in a 12 oz container and that was half full. So pathetic.

Shrimp roast - The shrimp were overcooked and hard. The masala was a tomato onion paste which any noob can make. No flavor or soul.

Kadala curry - This was the only dish which was passable among all the disasters we had. It atleast was not stingy on the channa and had some flavor.

Sorry you've lost...

Kappa is a hidden gem in the Homestead Shopping Center that offers delicious Kerala inspired flavors in a casual, artistic setting. The walls are decorated with fun black-and-white murals that give the space a laid-back, creative vibe, while the seating is spacious and comfortable.

The food is the real highlight — bold, authentic flavors with generous portions. The meat dishes are especially flavorful and well-spiced, and the vegetarian options hold their own with rich, aromatic seasonings. The fish fry was tender with just the right amount of heat, and the curry was perfectly balanced with fresh herbs.

Service is friendly and relaxed, making it feel like a cozy neighborhood spot rather than a rushed eatery. Prices are fair for the quality — around $20–$30 per person — and the menu offers enough variety to please spice lovers and mild palates alike.

One note: they open later in the day (5 PM), so plan accordingly. Overall, Kappa is a great choice for anyone craving hearty, flavorful Indian food in a...
