Taqueria Agave — Restaurant in Santa Cruz

I thoroughly enjoyed my al pastor super Burrito so much that I have gone back again for it. Although it is on the pricey side, the Burrito is packed with a very flavorful al pastor.

I was going to return today to try some tacos when a worker there was looking very angry at me while I parked. The first parking spot is half level with the sidewalk and it was hard to tell if I was pulled in and out of the way of the entrance. The worker inside seemed to be very upset and using coarse language and upset hand gestures to reflect that. A simple hand motion for me to back up would have been nice but as I got out to look and speak to him he stormed off. I am willing to admit when I am wrong but it wasn't easy to tell with the low/street level curb. Because of this one person's actions, I will never eat there again or be able to review anymore of their food. In all honesty, this has been my best food experience in Santa Cruz. I come from San Jose area, where I know nothing but amazing spicy and flavorful Hispanic cuisine. They have a wide array of different salsas, and different variations of traditional Hispanic dishes. My vegetarian burrito, which not only included fresh vegetables such as onions, fresh pico de gallo, lettuce, and really good avocado guacamole. The burrito itself was nicely wrapped, quite delicately, and not too juicy so that there was excess sauces on my hands or my eating space. This place was highly recommended as one of the best taquerias in the area... Unfortunately my tastebuds didn't agree the staff was friendly, but their food was not all that good to me or my son. the chips tasted old like they were fried in old grease and I did not like the taste of the salsas or guacamole, it's like the guacamole was mixed with a bunch of sour cream or something it was weird, but anyways definitely not what I'm used to here in Tennessee.
