This restaurant has come a long ways. They started off small and once the people demanded more the restaurant was the only other option. BBQ LAND not only prepares exceptional dishes, they understand the spirit of Santa Maria BBQ. The combination of great BBQ and keeping in with the traditions of Santa Maria BBQ, it's no shock customers continue to return. What I really appreciate about BBQ LAND is they never waiver their integrity and invest in premium ingredients as well as cooking methods. No wonder they've been around as long as they have. Take it from someone that takes BBQ seriously, if you want properly done BBQ, go to BBQ Land.
In addition, I'm confused why people complain about quantity. If you want to consume 2000 calories for $5, just go to McDonalds. I prefer quality over quantity any day of the week. ...
Read moreBar B Que Land use to be really good. Remember on the weekends in Santa Maria you can smell BBQ up and down Broadway, they took a great idea for fundraising and turned it into a daily business. Most recently we made a purchase expecting some BOMB A** BBQ...sadly it was not! The TRI TIP meat is so dry, and it's more like top lock cut, not the actual Tri Tip cut, it doesn't matter how much bbq sauce or watery pico de gallo they give it still won't become juicy... plus it was at least a day old, but the worst part of it all the meat was cooked over PINE not OAK🤦 anybody that has bbq'd on their own knows that cooking with Pine is a major NoNo. Not only does it change the the flavor of RED or WHITE OAK, but cooking with Pine wood can make you VERY SICK... beware Patrons of Santa Maria, and good luck if you continue...
Read moreI recently stopped by BBQ Land in Santa Maria, and it’s definitely some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a while. The tri-tip sandwich was fantastic—juicy, with just the right smoky flavor, and served on perfectly toasted bread. You can tell they put real care into the barbecue here. I also tried the ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone tender, with a nice depth of flavor.
The sides were generous, too. The beans were rich and flavorful, and the coleslaw was a great balance to the richness of the meat. The whole place has a laid-back, welcoming vibe, and the staff were friendly and quick to get orders out even when it was busy. I’d absolutely recommend BBQ Land to anyone in the area looking for an authentic Santa Maria BBQ experience. It’s a hidden gem worth checking out if you’re craving solid,...
