Been in this area for nearly 20 years and have tried most of the wonderful taquerias available and this place tops them all. Flavor, serving size, affordability, menu choices, and service are all top notch. Here’s a few things I would like to point out though. Weekend menu is slightly different. They only serve breakfast stuff (menudo etc) until lunch time. The rest of the menu will be available after 12 noon. One time, we ordered towards closing time and they ran out of rice (for the burrito) and chips (for the nachos). We were given the option to cancel or still proceed with our “to go” order (burrito without rice and nachos with chips from Safeway). We decided to proceed with the order and later found out that rice is a very important part in the burrito. The nachos were still very good but the burrito without rice was just not as pleasing. For what it’s worth... they did give us the option to proceed or cancel the order. Our 5 year old daughter loves the Horchata and to order food from this place and not get her Horchata is like watching the Dubs without Curry and Durant. It’s almost unacceptable. One busy afternoon, Our 5 year old daughter was nearly in tears when she found out that they were out of Horchata and that she had to get a different drink. We were in a hurry and were out of the door when one of the ladies working there approached us and gave my daughter a Horchata drink. My Miranda’s eyes lit up like fireworks on the 4th of July. The employee told me that somebody else already prepared a new jug of Horchata without her knowing and there it was... we actually got a free drink since she did not wanna accept the cash I gor from my pocket. Now call it sentimental but little things like this matters a lot to me. My daughter would have been fine (later on) without the Horchata but somebody made sure that she got her treat that evening and it’s a wonderful feeling to realize that people still care especially in a very busy place like this taqueria. This place is also conveniently located by Safeway (former G and G). It will be really busy most of the time so be a little more patient with waiting for your order. It will...

Read moreAs a self-proclaimed Molcajete connoisseur, I had to try this place. It's in the name! I've had them in many different cities/states and love testing out the differences.
I ordered the Molcajete Mixto ($32)here. First off, the salsa bar here is fun, lots of different homemade sauces. The molcajete comes with homemade tortilla, a side of rice, beans, guac and shredded lettuce.
Okay back to the molcajete. There is so much meat! I've never seen so much meat in a molcajete. 6 pieces of shrimp that's perfectly cooked (other places have dinky shrimp that's overcooked), chorizo, chicken, Carne asada, 2 big chunks of questions with nice charring, a jalepeno, etc. The sauce is also scrumptious too, which is very important.
The service is friendly here! They also serve you at your table with a menu and bring you the food. Not full on attentiveness but it's good service for a taqueria.
The molcajete probably serves 2-4 people, but I got it for myself. Why deprive myself of leftovers? :)
I do wish they ventilated more though. If you have a jacket, leave it in the car. It's...
