First off, the waitress was so quiet NO ONE at the table could hear her but me because I was right next to her. The request of Root Beer was made, as it is on their menu, to which we are told they dont carry it... why is it on the menu? The food portions for the price is a joke. They put more beans, rice, lettuce and guacamole on your plate then the main dish. I ordered the seafood fajita... the scallops were overcooked and rubbery, the imitation crab flavor did NOT go well as it was so over powering it took over the flavor of the scallops and shrimp, the bell peppers were pretty much raw, the only thing properly cooked for the fajitas were the shrimp and onions, the rice was dry and gross, and my sour cream was a soupy consistency. My daughter got their steak and chicken platter, she said the chicken was okay, but her steak was thin, chewy, and unflavourful , and she had the same complaint about portion and the beans and rice. One of my sons got the Hawaiian Quesadilla which he enjoyed, but again did not like the beans and rice. My other son got one of their nacho platers and first he stated it was supposed to have pineapple on it but there wasn't and the flavor was again subpar. When we were done and ready to leave we asked our waitress for some to go boxes (mostly to give this food to our dogs as a treat, because Lord knows they would enjoy it more then us). To any server this would indicate that we are done eating and ready for our check... this waitress brings us our boxes and walks away. Then comes back to serve a different table and we have to ask her for the check. She walks away, comes back 3 minutes later to collect plates WITHOUT THE CHECK, takes those off to the back, then comes and brings us the check... why didn't she bring us the boxes, go get the check, bring it to us, and then start collecting plates? Made no sense to me on how she did it. Definitely poor service on her part and the food was not worth the $99 that we had to pay, $40 MAYBE, but not $99... and to be completely honest, if I was the one paying the check that waitress would not have gotten a tip as her service was that poor. I literally chastised my boyfriend for leaving a $10 tip... SHE, NOR THAT "RESTAURANT", DESERVE THAT! This was taco truck experience wrapped in pretty packaging. Definitely will NOT be going back and will not recommend it at all. Hell, I'm going to tell people to STAY AWAY IT IS...
Read moreEat somewhere else! Disappointing. This was our first visit. We ordered online and took it Togo. The online app was easy to use. There aren’t customization options but they have a place to make notes.
Picking up the order was easy once we were understood by someone that we had a Togo order and didn’t want to sit at a table. Nice staff. Building seemed mostly renovated but you can still smell the mildew/mold that the Freddie’s used to have in the building.
My wife’s order was completely wrong. She got a steak salad w/no cheese or sour cream, they gave her a chicken salad with cheese melted on it. At least they kept the sour cream off of the order. My daughter’s tacos were to order and my combo was correct.
My expectations were low because it’s just a typical Mexican restaurant. The food was bland and boring. Everything was below standard Mexican restaurants nowadays. Typical chips, lack luster sweet cheese sauce, bland ground beef, premade frozen tamale, lame grilled chicken. Salsa was the only above par thing. This is all lower than my low expectations. Almost like they were trying to go for the lowest.
Then came the stomach pains. All three of us felt like we were getting sick. My wife had to take a nap. Luckily non of us threw up but we all did feel lethargic, bloated, and nauseous. It passed by the evening but this morning we all still feel a little drug down.
It’s weird to say that I would prefer any one of the many food trucks in Sapulpa over a restaurant, but the quality and consistency of the food trucks in Sapulpa far exceeds this place. What a...
Read moreOut with the old, in with the new Parrillas Mexican Grill. Burritos instead of cabbage rolls, refried beans instead of hummus and carne asada instead of ribeye. The dark dated interior is now bright white. Freddie’s is history. The floors are finished with a crazy colorful psychedelic paint job. The tables match. This is the sister restaurant to the Parrillas in Catoosa; one of my favorites for good Mexican food. No disappointment at the new restaurant. It is even better than their Catoosa location! Excellent salsa and thin crispy chips, along with a small bowl of queso. Salsa picante on request. The menu has pages of options. My wife had the Las Parrillas Lunch; 2 cheese enchiladas with two eggs, rice and beans. I had the Special Lunch #1:1 Chili Relleno, 1 beef taco, rice and beans. Both meals were wonderful. The outstanding items on the plate: the eggs on the enchiladas, the flavorful ground beef in the taco (some of the best that I have had), the queso was perfect as were the rice and beans. Great fast service. Big bright clean restaurant. Sapulpa now has another excellent option for Mexican food!
