Mi Bodeguita One — Restaurant in Sarasota

Wow. Just wow. Small family owned Cuban coffee shop and deli/restaurant that treats its customers as family. Have stopped in here periodically for coffee and a pastry or two and always came away impressed. So much so when we were hosting a large party (100 ppl) for the out of town guests attending my daughter’s wedding we knew just where to come. Jose (owner of Mi Bodeguita) sprung into action and put together a delicious buffet of salad, rice & beans, plantains, and Ropa Vieja, Included were ham and Swiss rolls as well as chicken empanadas as appetizers and guava & coconut pastries for dessert. The spread was beautiful and the food delicious. Our guests raved about the food. I highly recommend Mi Bodeguita if you are looking to cater a party. First class. Great service and great food. Oh and their Cuban coffee is the best in Sarasota.

Edit: stopped by the other day for a quick coffee and decided to try the Cuban pizza my kids rave about. Ordered the pizza and a Cuban Tamale as well. Very authentic Cuban restaurant. It has a diner/lunch counter feel. Clean and tidy down to the windows. Cafecito (Cuban coffee) was the best I’ve had in years. The Cubano sandwich was hot, tasty, and huge. Shared it with a friend, and we were still full. Served with potato sticks which was a nice touch. I have not had those for years. Great seasoned pulled pork accompanied by a large portion of ham served on very fresh authentic Cuban bread . We were the only non-Hispanic people there. We were warmly welcomed and treated extremely well. Other customers helped us by translating for the person behind the counter. Great food, tasty and legit Cuban food, generous portions, awesome customer service, very friendly and kind staff, been there three times now, every time I go I try something different and it keeps getting better and better, my family and I love the idea of having such a great Cuban Bodeguita in Sarasota, we used to go to Miami to eat Cuban pizza, today I tried theirs for the first time, AMAZING!!! And I don’t even want to talk about the pan con Bistek, I couldn’t even fit it in my mouth, everything was made on a timely matter, prepared with love, simply delicious, thank you for the cafecito cubano, it didn’t give me heartburn, it was spectacular as everything else, keep up the good work.
