First time experience here, terrible. The atmosphere was trendy and cute. Pictures online seemed like a good place. We first get here and couldnāt find anywhere to park. They only have 3 parking spaces available⦠I step up to the counter and the young girl took my order was super friendly I paid 14.77$ for two ice lattes okay normal price for lattes. We waited about 20 minutes until we even got our drinks. I donāt know if We were forgotten about or what happened I had to check and see if they were even in the works. I got the ice lattes and both were warm⦠there was about 3 ice cubes at the top of each lattes I asked the girl if she could just put more ice in them and she hands me a full cup of ice with a lid. Mind you I had whip cream on one of them. So I asked ācould you just remove the whip cream add ice to it and then re add the whip cream pleaseā she took the drink and did that and the one drink was fine. I tried my ice latte that I ordered and it was sour. I donāt know if It was the āhomemadeā maple syrup but it was disgusting. I asked if I could get a refund for just that drink because I was just over it at that point I wanted to just go somewhere else. We had already wasted a half hour trying to just get coffees. The manager or owner i donāt know then comes to the window and states they canāt give me a refund for my one ice latte because the skim milk wasnāt expired⦠then she offered to remake the drink so i said āokay thatās fineā (even though I just wanted my money back) and she stated āwe will just have to charge you for that so that will be -ā and i said āyouāre going to charge me again?ā I could not believe that. I left the sour ice latte there and said āIām not paying for another coffee when I wanted a refundā. Terrible customer service, the wait time was ridiculous, and the ice latte was gross. I am a big coffee drinker, I come to Sarasota every year and wanted to try a new place, this place was very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbout two weeks ago while visiting Sarasota. I searched for a coffee shop near me. It sure looked busy. I had high hopes.
Not a very friendly atmosphere. Order, pay at one window, pickup at another. Outside seating only. Very limited parking.
Ordered a simple Breve cappuccino. The half & half tasted sour/spoiled. $7 for a large and I could not drink it. Returned it to the pick up counter. Shared my complaint. Waited several minutes; longer than necessary. Was told their 1/2 & 1/2 was not out of date. Asked if Iād like them to make another one?
š¤ no thank you! No Refnd offered. I left very disappointed. Perhaps everyone who frequents there is used to that sour taste?
Here are reasons sour milk could happen:
If your milk tastes spoiled in a cappuccino, it's likely due to lactic acid fermentation or poor steaming techniques leading to uneven lactose dissolution, or potentially spoilage of the milk itself.
Lactic Acid Fermentation: Milk naturally contains lactose, a sugar that bacteria can convert into lactic acid. As milk ages, this process intensifies, leading to a sour taste and potentially curdling when mixed with acidic coffee.
Poor Steaming Techniques: If milk is not steamed properly, the lactose can dissolve unevenly, resulting in a sour or off taste.
Coffee Acidity: Some coffee beans, especially those with a high acidity, can interact with milk, especially if the milk is not fresh, leading to curdling or a sour taste.
Temperature: Adding milk to coffee that is too hot can also cause curdling.
Storage: Improper storage can lead to milk spoiling faster, especially in warmer temperatures.
Contamination: In some cases, milk can be contaminated with bacteria or other microorganisms after pasteurization, leading to a sour or off taste.
Other Factors: Certain types of coffee beans might not pair well with milk, or the ratio of milk to coffee might be off, potentially masking the...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei know this may sound dramatic but iām actually really disappointed that i feel like i have to leave this review. i absolutely love the coffee and food here. i worked at starbucks for close to ten years and when i left the company two years ago i wanted to make a point to support local shops instead of corporate. i found postal right off the bat. for a few months iād come here once even twice a week. the service was always mid quality but the food and drinks are so good it made it worth it. it feels like every time i step in, the service just gets worse and worse. i think over my two years of frequenting this place, iāve met two or MAYBE three baristas who are even mildly friendly. to the point where i thought maybe they just didnāt like me at this establishment for some reason or another. iām always polite and tip well so i wasnāt sure what i had done to offend the baristas here. but now upon reading other 1-2 star reviews i see this doesnāt just happen to me and that lots of people are complaining about the employees. itās to the point where i walk into the building in a good mood and leave in a bad one. i will probably stop coming here due to the fact that good service seems so hard to come by. to the manager or owner, i reccomend you evaluate whatās missing in your team of employeesāwhether their work environment needs to change, they need extra customer service training, or if you just need to hire new workers altogether. yāall have a few very lovely people working here but the majority of them seem completely miserable at their job and treat customers like they wish we would...
