El Mezcal — Restaurant in Sauk Centre

Not Happy At All -- I was up in Sauk Centre for a 2-day mini trip and had lunch on 9/3 at El Mezcal. Very disappointed. The server was borderline rude. The top layer of taco chips were great - but after eating 1/2 of the basket, the bottom layer was stale. I asked for new chips (no apology from the server) Also, I asked if I could get 'grilled' chicken in my burrito. She said yes. I recvd 'shredded' chicken. (no apology from the server) After explaining, again, that I wanted 'grilled' (and would gladly pay extra if needed) she took it back and brought another burrito. This one had chicken that was either, boiled, baked, or blanched. Very 'moist' chunks and certainly not grilled. I voiced my displeasure. (again, not one apology or comparable customer response was given) I guess 'grilled' means something totally different in the Twin Cities... Please be honest with customers. If you do not do 'grilled' chicken, say so. I would have ordered hamburger or steak, instead. And possibly some additional customer service training for your staff. Kindness and understanding...

The worst service of my life. They took over an hour to get us our food, and the server got multiple orders incorrect and charged us for orders we never made. Not to mention when we did get our food, it tasted terrible.

To top it all of, they added extra money to all of our tabs when we went and checked our bank statements to include tip even though none of us tipped the server. They illegally changed the info we had written on our receipts for payment.

Please stay away from here and if you do end up going, save your receipt and check to make sure they are charging you correctly.

Palmer house down the street had incredibly good food - check it...

place is mediocre at best. meat was cooked on the dry side. service was subpar, took a long time to get order taken. food came hot but longer than expected considering not much customer in the establishment. servers never checked to see how we were doing until they were ready to collect the bill yet my water has been empty from the salty dried food was empty. they tried to overcharge me also until i brought it up, disappointing to say i wont be back there even if it's the only mexican...
