After months of meaning to try this little cafe near my home, I finally did. I ordered through GrubHub and originally requested their recommended dish, a Lox and Cream Cheese Everything Bagel with Capers and a Squeeze of Lemon, and a custom smoothie with Cherries, Strawberries, and Peaches.
Within a few minutes I received a call from one of their employees letting me know they could not complete my order as submitted because they were out of Cream Cheese. He offered to make the bagel with just the Lox, but I declined because frankly, that sounded gross and I'm not paying for a dish that's missing one of its key ingredients. I asked instead to have my bagel substituted with a Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Croissant. They gave me two, since that item costs significantly less than the bagel I had already paid for through GrubHub.
I thought that was it, thanked the employee, and hung up. Then I got ANOTHER call a few minutes later, this time so the employee could tell me they didn't have peaches because "peaches are currently out of season." No where in the online menu does it say they only stock items in season. Also, cherries and strawberries are out of season as well, but they had those in stock for my smoothie? Maybe it's just me, but generally speaking, when I make smoothies or order them elsewhere, it's typically made with frozen fruits - So it really just seems like this cafe is not keeping a sufficient inventory and just expecting customers to be fine with that.
All in all, the food was okay, but not worth the $20+ I spent for it. Nothing was as I ordered it. My breakfast croissants were tasty, but only in that it's pretty hard to screw up something as simple as a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Nothing about the sandwiches stood out as something I would pay for a second time. Meanwhile, my smoothie tasted entirely of banana and nothing else. I trust there are in fact cherries and strawberries in it due to the overall color, but the pungent flavor of banana overwhelms everything else - which is precisely why I would've preferred the sweetness of...
Read moreI came in here for the first time today and I really loved the atmosphere and the theme. It is a vibe. I loved the variety of beverages and food they have and also plant-based options. However, I ordered a plant-based breakfast sandwich with plant-based egg cheese, and bacon. I was told that they had plant-based bacon, but that it was frozen so I couldn’t order it although you’re supposed to cook plant-based bacon from frozen so I’m not sure why I couldn’t have it. Still; I said that’s fine and just opted for the egg and cheese. I receive my sandwich and was extremely disappointed. The bread was not toasted, and the cheese was not melted, and it was just very unappetizing. I feel like I got a “raw” breakfast sandwich. Also after I checked out, the option came up on the screen for me to earn points for my purchase by signing up and I was interested in doing so but the lady didn’t even give me the chance to put my info in. She did say that she had just started working there about two weeks ago but it was giving the impression that she wasn’t trained well or prioritizing customer service or promoting the businesses incentives. I also didn’t like how messy the place looked with boxes everywhere and when she opened the freezer to look for the plant based meet she wasn’t sure they had, it was so messy and unorganized and off putting. I am highly disappointed that this was the...
Read moreEdited 9/7/23 Well, I used to like this place but it’s gone downhill. Twice I have showed up after online ordering and it was closed. Another time I still stood there for 20 min because they forgot to make my order. Now two days I’ve tried to online order and it doesn’t exist. So today I tried to go in before work and the girl was moving so slow that I just walked back out. For many of us, online ordering is something important so we can grab our coffee and food on our way to work without having to wait for it to be made. I won’t be trying anymore. I’d rather spend $30 on a $8 Starbucks order on Uber eats.
I have been here quite a few times to get take out. I think the coffee is great (I get iced lattes), the breakfast sandwiches are good also… and it’s super fairly priced. I only have two complaints:
For a huge coffee drinker, I’d like a larger drink option. The “large” (20oz) is a medium for me and I would get a bigger option if I could.
If you order take out (online ordering) - they have no set up or area for those orders. So, there have been a few times I’ve ordered online so I don’t have to wait in line (on my way to work or whatever) and then I still have to wait in line to get to the register to get my order. That’s besides the point of pre ordering. There needs to be another system!
Overall great...
