Relatively new to Savanna lived here for about two years. Proud Yankee. 🧭
Got up early went for a nice walk downtown decided to get something delicious to eat. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was met with disappointment and a bad attitude. I ordered grits with salmon. The Salmon was broken up completely as if someone had chewed it, swallowed it and threw it back up into my plate. The salmon is not fresh. It comes from a can. I should not be chewing bones. Then when I asked about the “shrimps smothered in gravy” and could I have it on the side as well the young lady rudely replied no.
I said to myself
“that’s fine I don’t think shrimp with brown gravy goes good on grits anyway”
All in all the plater was a complete hack job. I can’t believe people are actually paying for this and have the nerve to call it Soul food they should be committed for what they’re doing.
I mean honestly, anybody can take fish from out of a can, season it and call it there own.

Read moreWe tried the smothered pork ribs, fried fish, lima beans, and fried yellow squash. Bottled sodas and juices are available. We took dessert home: banana pudding and strawberry cake.
The place is basic, just four walls and some tables. The service is great. The people running this home style cafe are very pleasant and sincere in making you feel welcome. the quality of the food will have you planning another visit. The fish was piping hot and delicious. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone good and the chef flavors the rice with the rib juice for extra mmmmm. The squash is deep fried the right way and the lima beans are not your typical boring side.
Don't go here expecting to be wowed with a fancy atmosphere. Go here because you want to be wowed by southern flavors. Easiest 5 stars I've...
Read moreCharged me 27.74 for a piece of old stuffed salmon, overcooked canned peas, and old hard macncheese. The red velvet cake was delicious and tasted like how my grandma made it. But when I asked for a menu, I got directed to the old lunch food. And I got there at 1pm. That food had been out forever and the stuffed salmon was gross as all get out. The mix in the middle was imitation crab shrimp and rice all mashed together and looked like throw-up. It was gross. I've never spent that much money on lunch before and the lady rung me up as a lamb chop for what reason? I got taken advantage of and I'm not happy. I didn't even get a drink with my 30.00 take away. Talk...
