Always a line at this strange place when I drove by: that was my first clue that something was up. I didn't know what people were lining up for though. Car wash, auto repair, liquor store, Junk Yard? I had no idea what this place was. It didn't look like a traditional BBQ joint but the sweet smell and smoke told me I had to investigate. I got in line with the other people having no idea if I was getting my car washed or buying a 1978 AMC Pacer transmission, but as luck would have it, I was getting the best BBQ I have probably ever had. Thank God I did check it out because it is my opinion the best BBQ in town and there are plenty. I am not dissing the other places but this place is really fantastic and cheap. Small, medium and large chicken, beef, pork or lamb rib dinners to go-there are no tables, take out only. The large dinners are enough for two people. The two sides I had were also excellent- which were the potato salad and baked beans, Friday and Saturday only they also have seafood salad. Forget what the place looks like and dive right in. Do not pass this one up. This is the genuine article and remember if you see a line, stop and get it- you may end up eating the meal of a...
Read moreIt saddens me to deliver this poor rating but I love food and when I feel disrespected, I will respond. I was at this place today and ordered a large rib plate. The woman that took my order had already told me that they only had potato salad left so I ordered that. When my order was finally ready I looked and my box and there was no sides at all. The guy came to the door and said they were out of potato salad and that he would give me a free soda... soda???? Wow! Lol, Savanna, you have to stop supporting bad service. I know you guys don't have many options here but this service truly sucks. If you continue to support bad business they will continue to have bad business. Im only working here and decided to stop here and that is my last time ever eating there. He can keep his little soda because I don't want it. Savannah stop supporting BAD...
Read moreSo on a trip to Savannah, I did what’s normal for me when searching for the best food... I “Googled”, “Trip Advisor’d” and “Yelp’d”. You can order beef, chicken and ribs with sides of potato salad. Full disclosure, I’m always going to talk about the ribs... I did have the beans and it’s a good thing I’m focusing on the ribs. Anyway, the ribs are FANTASTIC!, porky, rich smoky almost a “bacon like” quality. They were succulent, moist and cut into manageable pieces. They also come with a sauce that’s hard to describe but a good accompaniment nonetheless. I bought a large (includes bread and beans - potato salad) with about 7 pieces, which was more than enough. If you don’t stop for anything else, stop there for the ribs, it’s well worth the trip...even for this...
